The day I ran into Seán McLoughlin (FLUFF) Pt. 1

It was a windy blustery day, the kind you see on the nature channel that makes bees bumble backwards and tree branches feverishly kiss the ground in short but passionate bursts. The flowers bending and swaying in time to each blow in a dance that imitated a belly dancer shaking her hips devishly to whatever rhythm happened to catch her ears.

This is where you come in.

You ran into the train station, the wind having knocked out your power and thus causing your alarm to never sound. Scrambling to be on time, you hadn't brushes your hair in it's imagination gripping bun. Instead of each hair having it's own assigned place on your head, they all whipped wildly about in an attempt to blind you.

The tips of your ears tinged with red as you walked faster, occasionally feeling the drops of the boiling coffee leap from the cup unto your cold hand, temporarily providing a burning relief before rolling off the soft skin and onto the ground.

The docking area coming into sight as you slowed down, you had a minute to straighten yourself up before you had to board.

Quickly throwing your hair into a messy bun, you grab a pencil from your bag and stick it though, praying to whatever hair gods were listening that you look professionally messy- and not like an 80s porn star.

Just as you were walking up the first step, a blueish blur sped past you, knocking your 16 ounce coffee all over your and your things. Gasping, you stepped back just as the train doors closed and started chugging along. Leaving behind an open mouthed (Y/N) in it's wake.

...

It was your lunch break, and the day couldn't have gone worse. After arriving to the office late, you had to endure a lengthy lecture from your supervisor about keeping up personal appearances and time management. Once you realized the notes to your presentation were ruined, you had 15 minutes to compile hours of information. That being said, your presentation went poorly and was so downright awful that you were dismissed before the one minute mark.

Grabbing yet another large coffee, you sat at the edge of your seat and nibbled on the chicken and spinach panini you had ordered. You had fifteen minutes to finish your meal, and another 15 to make it back in time for the end of your lunch break.

Glancing around, you saw a man on the other side of the small room looking back at you. Confused, you looked away wondering why he was looking at you to begin with.
Looking over once more, you met eye contact again as seeing his blue hair brought on a sense of familiarity. More secretive and not to secretive glances were stolen that piqued your curiosity further until you eventually took your coffee cup and sauntered the short walk to his table.

"Yes?" you said as you looked down on him.

     "Yes?" he questioned.

"You're the one staring daggers at me," you said slyly.

"You're the one who stared back," he challenged.

"Whatever," you roll your eyes, "do I know you?"

"Maybe, depends on if that stain in your shirt is from trying to bring a coffee cup onto the morning rails," he smirked.

A moment later it hit you, you were speaking to the blue blur that ruined your entire day.

"You?!...Oh goodness... I oughtta choke the white off of you, leave you black and blue! How dare you do that to me? Do you know the amount of trouble you caused me today? God I have half the mind to just reach over and smack you upside, downside, leftside and rightside the head just to wipe that stupid look off your face!" you ramble feeling yourself bubbling over with anger.

Turning to leave, you felt a hand grip your wrist and prevent you from moving.

"Let go or I scream," you dared him, staring him straight in the eyes.

"Calm down, no one wants that. Just let me explain, kay?" he said.

"You have 30 seconds," you say curtly.

"I was running late this morning, my dog usually wakes me up instead of an alarm. When I finally woke up, I saw her laying on the ground, still. not moving, barely breathing" he started.

I kept a straight face as he continued, "So I ran out, in my pajamas nonetheless, to bring her to the vet," he finished.

"Well then," you take a pause, "that is highly unfortunate".

"Yeah whatever, look, I'm sorry I spilled your coffee and fucked up your day. It was an accident, can I buy you another to make it up to you?" he asked.

"I'm already drinking one?" you raise an eyebrow as you sip from the hot, dark brown, liquid.

"How about tomorrow? Meet me at the same time and I can buy you lunch," he suggested.

"How do I know you aren't a murderer? A government agent or even just a jerk?" I question.

"I wouldn't murdered you ten minutes ago when the cashier went to the back, since there would've been no witnesses. A government agent, really? And would a jerk offer to pay for a meal?" he pushed.

"I guess you have a point. Sure, same time tomorrow," you nod.

"See ya then," the mystery man waves you off as you walk briskly to the bus stop.
