[A/n: So like, I'm here to deliver. Finally :'))))) I've continued on writing from now (January 2021, wow) at the dinner part right after the first scene. Can't believe I left myself off with so little but it does mean I don't have to go through and rewrite it. A big A/N at the end.]

>> [A/N 2021/01/30: Eyy dropping some art (at the top there) based on the 3rd-ish scene in this chapter. Didn't want to make a new chapter as a big deal to it. But I'm gonna be shameless and self-plug-- my IG art account is @ espyunes if any of y'all wanna see what I got. (I haven't actually posted any AoT stuff on there but maybe in the future.) Thanxx ♡]

Reader's POV

"So, we have a deal then?" The corner of my lips tugged to form a smile.

Erwin nodded, "I think that is agreeable."

The judge at the stand nodded his own head, "very well, (Y/n) (L/n) due to the agreement you are to return to your world. On returning visits to assist with the titans you are to be compensated with the required necessities during the stay and are under the orders of the Survey Corps' commander Erwin Smith."

"Great! I guess that concludes this, yes?" I clapped my hands with a grin on my face. He hammered the gavel on the stand.

"So when do we return?" Serana asked placing the few books on the table in a stack.

"Soon, perhaps we'll leave tomorrow after breakfast." I answered honestly. "But first I think we should go to the mess hall for dinner, hm?"

"Mn, very well." The vampire replied, walking over to the door to wait for me.

I followed her, replacing armor with the casual outfit I normally wear when it's at least safer than being outside walls.

Serana held the door open for me and I sent her a thanks. She followed me through the halls till we reached the mess hall. Chatter emitted from the other side of the doors and I grinned before pushing open the doors.

The group I call friends turned to me, smiles on their faces. Grabbing food I sat with the group I was closest with.

"You're not going to be gone forever right?"

I met Sasha's pout with a laugh, "no." I waved my hand in dismissal. "I will be coming back and forth between my home and here, so long as I am welcome." I assure them, my hand falling to my side.

I let them talk amongst themselves as I reveled in the moment. I preferably would say my goodbyes tomorrow morning before departure. Looking at it all now, the way these... young soldiers carry themselves.

I've been so wrapped up in what was happening. My world was no stranger to war, bloodshed, death. But it felt different here. Youthfully different. They faced a different type of horror, especially in the front-line.

"Never really thought about it, I have to be impressed with their perseverance." I huffed, raising my cup of water as I stood. I thought it best not to bring out the alcohol, especially with the young ones at the table. Even if you know... my departure would call for some fun at least.

"They most likely had training tomorrow, wouldn't want to have them drag themselves out of bed with a head as heavy as a giant." I had said defensively. Serana had said nothing, just patted my shoulder with a smile that read; "good, you should cut back on some too."

"Don't forget what you all did for me since I first arrived here." The sound of my voice cuts through the hall. "I've been provided aid, food and shelter. I will never forget it. And I hope to continue to aid the people within the walls." I look around, finding a content wave wash through me. Even if it'd be for the moment alone. "To another day. To the future."
