The dark red dragonet circled over the rocks, peering down into the crevices. He saw movement out of the corner of his eye, but turned away when he realized it was just an eagle. Near one peak, he found what he was looking for. A large mountain goat stood on the rocks, in plain sight. He turned and shot towards it, his huge wings carrying him quickly forward. The goat saw him as he got closer, and bolted, but the dragon swerved easily and gave chase. His claws sank into the goat's sides just before it ran into a ravine, killing it quickly. He banked sharply and flew away from the mountain, heading over the small forest to his cave.

As he landed, a copper-colored dragon turned and looked at him, then at the goat he carried.

"That was fast," she said. "You're a good hunter." The dragon smiled. "Maybe I should call you that. Hunter."

The male dragon, Hunter, nodded. "And maybe you can be Fire," he added as the other dragon's tail brushed a branch, igniting it.

"Sounds good," she said.

Hunter dragged the goat into the warm cave, out of the cold wind. Fire followed him, standing between him and the cave entrance. She knew how he got cold a lot, especially when he was away from her. Her warm scales heated the air around her, and while they didn't know why, they were hot enough to burn his scales. Hunter had learned early on in his life that touching his sister would hurt. But if he just stood close to her, he wouldn't get too cold, but he wouldn't get hurt either.

He threw part of the goat to Fire. She caught it between her talons, and the meat started to blacken quickly. Fire ate it before it could get too burnt, and Hunter ate his half too. They curled up close to each other as the sky got dark.

Unusual names for SkyWings? Sure. But they don't know that... yet.

And yeah, before Dragonslayer, my headcanon was that fire-less SkyWings would have red eyes and dark red scales, and would get cold easily.
