Ever since I was a little girl I had always been a light sleeper. So when I heard the movie ending, I opened my eyes and realized that my head was resting on Ryder’s shoulder and I quickly sat up only to experience an awful head rush. Ryder quickly maneuvers his hands to steady me and he laughs. “If I had known that you were tired I would have just let you go to sleep before we started this movie,” I smiled and looked down at my hands, “Are you still sleepy or do you want to do something else?” He genuinely asked.
Being the shy person that I am I responded with a simple, “I’m fine with either.” He smirked at me a lifted a brow thinking about what we were going to do and made a conclusion and said, “You look exhausted so how about we go to sleep now and we will do other stuff tomorrow? Sound good?” I nodded my head thankful that we were going to sleep. In truth, I was really exhausted and I really did want to go to sleep.
We got up and Ryder took the movie out and set it back into its case and we walked over to the king sized bed. He lifted the comforter up, waited for me to slide in, and set it back over me. With a smile he set tucked me in and with nothing else to say he got up and went to the other side of the bed, removed his t-shirt showing his sculpted six-pack, and then got it bed. I was very insecure about myself and with Ryder sleeping right next to me only made it worse for me. With no other words exchanged I fell into a peaceful, dreamless sleep.
The next morning I got up before Ryder did. I looked the clock sitting on the nightstand beside me and it read 3:28 A.M. See this is what happens to me when I am not in my own bed. It is hard for me to stay asleep throughout the entire night. I looked at Ryder’s peaceful face and decided not to bother him and I slowly slid out of bed. I really had to go to the bathroom so I walked to the big brown door and slowly turned the knob careful not to wake Ryder up. Who knows what he would do to me if he woke up. When the door was open halfway, I carefully slid in and shut it behind me. I patted my hands on the wall, next to the door searching, for the light switch. Once I found it, I was very thankful that it was indeed a bathroom. I went ahead and did my business and washed my hands. After I was done, I quietly exited the room. When I was in the hall, I looked for the stairs on either end of the hall only to find out that both ends of the hall had stairs connected to it. I went to one end of the hall and peeked down to see the living room. Then not knowing what to do, I went to the other end of the hall and looked down and also saw the living room. I slowly walked down the stairs, careful not to wake anyone up, to the first floor of the house. Not knowing what to do at three in the morning, I went into the living room and saw a pile of magazines. I rummaged through the pile until I found a beauty one. Grabbing a couple of them, I walked out onto the porch and turned on the lights and sat down on a chair. I flipped through the magazines trying to pass time, and not even realizing that Ryder was out leading on the side of the door.
“Couldn’t sleep?” He asked with his deep morning voice. Scared, I practically jumped out of my chair. Ryder instantly grabbed me and held me close to him.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He said.
“Its fine doesn’t worry about it.” He led me back to the chair and took the seat next to me. I wanted to go home. This is not my home, so I asked him, “Um so I was…- I mean when do I get to go home?”
“Love this is your home. You are my mate and the future Luna of this pack.” His smile slowly disappeared. “Why do you not like--”
“No, no, no, no I love it here. It’s just that my home is not here. I have my parents, my friends, and my entire life back home.”
“Baby, I didn’t say that you couldn’t go back. I just said that this place is your home too. You are the Luna of this pack and this pack dependant on you as well as on me.” He smiled and reached for my arm and set me down on his lap. Feeling drawn to him, I leaned into him and laid my head onto his shoulders. Even though I barely know him, my heart was reaching out to him. I felt like I have known him my whole life. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. Once I did so, he gladly wrapped his long, muscular arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. Sitting there comfortably, we just took in the silence and enjoyed each others presence. I looked out into the wilderness and wondered how lucky I am. How I have such a loving mate and how I finally found him two entire states over from my pack. How did I come from a territory of loneliness and abandonment to being surrounded by a whole pack of people who love me and care about me? How did I get paired with the perfect mate who loves me and cares about everything about me? I thought about my future that I will be spending with him and all the attention I will get from him that I never got at home. I thought about how much respect I get over here and how back at home I am treated like a baby that needs to always be protected. I love how I am free here and that I can do what I wish to do. I am exceptionally happy that over here somebody loves me for me. I smiled and sank deeper into Ryder’s arms. I rested my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat. I listened to his steady breathing and into his arms. One thing that I am for sure about is that I am finally in a place that I want to be in and that I am exceptionally in love with the Ryder Daniels. Everyday that I have seen him these past days, my heart leaps for him. This was a new feeling something that I have never experience with anyone. This was new to me. I melted into his arms and I fell into a dreamless sleep.
