A cold October breeze flicked through the blond boys hair as if the wheels on his cerulean bike were racing the gusts. As the boy pedalled the leaves of fallen trees crushed under the tires, creating a pleasing sound that paired well with the clink of the bike chain. As he rushed into a neighborhood of large tan homes, he couldn't help but smile. Singh, his best friend of many years, lived just up ahead and he was returning after an unfortunate cold had locked him away that monday through thursday. As the boy pulled up to a cream home with a tan roof and yellow door, he saw his friend for the first time in days.
A pair of black square glasses sat atop a nose that was dusted with brown freckles to compliment his clear skin. Hidden under a yellow beanie, hiding a soft and very curly but tidily cut mane in a pitch black, and his eyes were beady and a sharp brown colour, that reminded his friend of milk chocolate. Singh glanced up, saw his friend and smiled gently at him, grabbing his red bike by the handles and showing off his yellow and green striped gloves to his friend.
"Good morning, Alex," Singh spoke cutting the silence and adjusting his glasses to see the blond better.
Big and bright blue eyes were the largest feature on his face, and with his scruffy blonde hair, fair skin, and chubby, rosy cheeks he could often be mistaken for a girl. It was fine by him, femininity rang through in his wardrobe and his side part was accentuated by a pink headband Singh had bought him for his birthday. Alex smiled brightly back at Singh, "Morning Singh! Ready for another great day?" his high and sweet voice had a pinch of sarcasm which made his friend snicker. "Never," Singh replied, "Are you?" his voice sounded sharper, like every word meant something. "Am I ever?" Alex said back before hopping on his bike with his friend and riding away down to Maple street where St. Evermont stood.
