The leaves cracked as I ran through the forest panic swelled in my chest as the voices all echoed around me I tried my damnedest to block out what they were saying. the chorus of voices grew louder the farther i ran.
"here he comes."
"just turn around and accept your fate."
I stopped for a moment my lungs burning, crying for air. the air surrounding me grew cold only being broken by the feeling of hot breath on my neck the fine hairs on my neck raised and i braced myself to run.
"Y/n!"
i heard someone call my name the voice a soft cry in the distance just as i bolted forward a black and red clawed hand grabbed my arm tightly I couldn't help but gawk in terror as a feeling like the flames of hell lapped at my arm. I pried my eyes away from my arm long enough to see;..my ceiling
My body was covered in a cold sweat and i scrubbed my hand over my face blowing out a sigh of relief. I've been having the same nightmare for weeks now. every night i fall asleep and every night i dream that I'm being chased and without fail i always wake up before I can see their face. its become a rather exhausting pattern, one I've taken note of as the dark bags grew under my eyes. proof of sleepless nights gained by the fear of reliving the same nightmare. I slid from my bed the light of early morning creeping in through the curtains. i risked a glance at my alarm clock presuming it wouldn't be covered in spiders.
That was the other nightmare I occasionally had more like an irrational fear if you ask me. 6:25 A.M it read. shit I'm gonna be late better not take to long to get ready. I trudged into the shower letting the warm water wash away the panic that had begun to drift away. I made the shower quick before hopping out drying off and getting dressed while brushing my teeth. with some luck and under the crunch of time i grabbed my book bag and headed out the door being sure to make a mental note to never schedule my self for early morning college classes again. I made it a few blocks away before coming to a dead halt; did i lock the door? fuck i don't think i locked the door.
I turned and that's when i saw the flash of a camera go off from the trees near me. i recoiled in shock blinking and rubbing my eyes trying to dissolve the white splotches covering my vision. there was shuffling and i walked closer. stupid kid didnt their parents ever teach them any decency.
"ok kid just give me the camera and we'll be fine."
the shape froze staring at me seemingly confused.
"yes you. I've had a rough enough morning i just want the picture deleted."
they took a step back so in pursuit I took one forward. before I knew it I was throwing my book bag into a bush chasing after this idiot. it was kinda hard to see while running but now that i got a good look at them they definitely did not look like a child they had to be at least 6 foot if not maybe 5 foot 11 at the least. I must've spent 15 minutes chasing this guy before i finally lost sight of him. great just another cherry on top of the fuck you sundae that is my morning. I turned to head back thats when i noticed the fog everywhere. when did this fog roll in? I could barely see 5 feet in front of my face basically obliterating all hope of maybe recognizing a tree i ran past or a bush or something. I reached into my pocket hoping my phone could guide me but both my pockets were empty of course today had to be the one day i put my phone in my bag with a sigh i looked around and decided to leave it to the luck of the draw and head...
-you have 3 choices if you choose to go forward continue this chapter if you choose right skip to the next chapter if you choose left go to the third chapter-Going forward was as good of a choice as any right? or at least thats what i convinced myself of as i began walking. I walked seemingly in circles for what felt like hours before it finally dawned on me somehow i WAS walking in circles it was as though something kept me from advancing any further. like for instance you know how when you play a game and you try to walk out of bounds the game automatically turns your character around? yeah like that except it was like i was constantly being teleport-ed back to point A. i decided it better to pick a different direction rather than continue this pattern for hours.
