Two Broken Souls

Chapter 17

Percy POV

As I ran I heard the thwang of arrows being launched, and something grab both of my ankles. I fell.

The arrows hit pinned down my clothes and I didn't try to move because I knew it would be stupid and I didn't want to be shot at.

I heard footsteps coming closer to me, and shouts of protest from my team mates. I decided to just lay there until Thalia and Nico came, so that I could take it in all at once.

"So kelp for brains where you've been?," Thalia asked calmly. Too calmly. "BECAUSE WE WERE FREAKING SEARCHING FOR YOU THESE LAST FEW WEEKS!," and there was the Thalia I know and love.

"Well you know I've been here, there, ya know?," I said trying to avoid the question.

"Percy, we were worried sick about you. You're our family, and you are very likely to die with your track record," Nico said.

"Wow, thanks for having so much faith in me, and can I get up?," I asked hopefully.

"You're welcome, but seriously we were scared when I got back from our dad's assignments and-''

"Aw you called Uncle P dad," I said trying to avoid the subject.

"-you were gone when we got back, and no one even cared that you were missing," Nico finished.

"So then Nico and I asked Andrew -," I flinched at the sound of  Andrew's name and hoped that they didn't notice, but sadly Thalia did.

"Wait why did you flinch at Andrew's name? Did he hit you?!," Thalia asked in alarm and anger.

"What? No he didn't hit me or anything like that, but he did cheat on me..." I mumbled that last part out not looking into their eyes.

"What was that Percy I couldn't hear that last part?," Nico asked.

"He cheated on me with my half sister," I said in disgust. 

"HE DID WHAT!?," Thalia shouted with sparks flying off her.

"The camp also started to turn their backs on me, and Uncle P started to call me a disgrace to his blood line,'' I said bitterly.

"Why would they do that? Why would you're own dad say that about you?," Nico asked.

"Maybe cause I deserved it. With all the blood on my hands I wouldn't be surprised," I said honestly. 

I felt the shadows disappear from my ankles and the arrows taken off my clothes so they wouldn't pin me down.

I got up and stood to face my cousins. They looked at me then hugged me.

When they let go Thalia slapped me.

"OW! What the Hades was that for?," I asked

"That was for blaming yourself for what happened when it wasn't your fault,''Thalia said sternly.

Nico just rolled his eyes.

By then the team was near us and had their weapons on or powered up.

 I stood in front of my cousins when the team was too close for my liking.

"What do you think you're doing?," I asked sternly.

"Percy step away from them they could be a threat," Natasha said.

"They aren't a threat they're my family, and if you want to do any thing to them well you're going to have to go through me," I said defensively. 

"Percy it's fine we'll be alright, we always are. Remember we're older than you?," Nico said with a smirk.

"That is yet to be cleared up," I said.
