I - I'm sorry I can't tell you my real name and - and everything - You understand that I . . . I live in fear now, for everything - from everyone - all that I - we - did -
I understand. Tell me more.
The thing about the game was . . . you don't see its effects immediately. All the decisions we made, the consequences? They don't show up the next day. They show up maybe next week, after a couple more rounds have passed, and that's why it's hard, to link the dots. Because we couldn't see the whole picture at first. It was like . . . watching a video that had audio lagging a few minutes behind, we had no idea what was going on until that particular scene had passed.
What happened when you did realize?
I - I was a coward. I thought only of myself. I didn't think about them, the people we were making those decisions for, I didn't think of them . . . I always thought I was such a BTS fan, you know? Like, I was a fanatic that's what I was, I kept telling myself that . . .
But let's be honest, we all want to save ourselves first.
When did you start suspecting?
I actually started suspecting quite early. I think - about the time Sehun died. Yea, that was it. I remembered waking up and seeing it all over the news, EXO member killed, Oh Sehun, beaten up - and I remembered thinking, hey isn't that what we did for round 3, I mean Sehun and both the gif of Kookie getting beaten up had gotten the most votes.
But of course I just shrugged it off. That was the thing, when we first started suspecting, we all just shrug it off. Because it was insane. The fact that it could be truth was insane. I think us shrugging it off, that was normal - if I had suspected the game caused death and immediately believed that, that would be more worrying.
It took a long, long time before we believed, and by that time it was too late.
