In the beginning, when our fans were small in number but no less sincere, it was easy to keep up with their love. We had always been and always will be grateful for the immense outpouring of support and adoration we receive. We knew full well that we wouldn't be where we were today, if not for love. Love is, after all, the driving source of motivation, determination, strength and growth.
But love can also be suffocating, and a heavy burden to bear.
As we grew comfortable on the throne, our world grew wider, but our lives grew smaller. There was no way for us to turn without a hundred eyes upon us, a hundred people reaching out with their hearts in their hands. Would it be selfish of me to refuse those hearts? Would it be selfish of me to cry out, to ask them to stop, because I can't bear with this responsibility anymore, the responsibility of having to be ideal? The responsibility of caring for these hearts you have given me, of having to be so careful as not to drop and shatter a single one. And every day, the amount of hearts I have to hold grows, and I am tired.
Am I in a way, directly responsible for the suffering this evil, poisonous game has inflicted? Am I the reason why so many people had to die? Would it be narcissistic of me to say that I feel, just so, terribly responsible?
Would it be better if we have not existed?
