Unknown POV:
I pull the hood to my favorite black hoodie over my head. It was getting cold, but I didn't mind. I am sitting right here on the roof of  my aunt's apartment building.

We were just having a great day at our favorite cafe, well my favorite cafe. We is my mom, my dad, my aunt, and my brothers.

We had just ordered our food, when someone in the next booth let's out a scream.

"ZOMBIE!" screams a little boy.

Everyone flips their head to look toward the window to get a peak if this kid is actually insane, but he wasn't. Even more people shrieked and then everyone started rushing to find the exit.

I couldn't see the zombie over the big crowd and the next thing I knew my family wasn't next to me. All I did was run.

And here I am.

I always dreamed about this stuff. I was always planned for this. I am totally prepared for this apocalypse-

AHHH!

A scream echoes. I dash to edge of the building and spot a girl about to be bit by a zombie in the leg. I have to do something...even though I don't really know the girl. I have to act fast.

I spin around and clutch a brick from the messy pile laying on the concrete.

I chuck it and watch it as it travels down. I just hope that it hits that creature's skull and not that girl's foot.

ARGH!

It isn't the girl's voice though, it is shriek of the zombie as it plummets down and onto the concrete.

The girl's brunette hair flips around, revealing beautiful, shiny blue eyes that pull me in and send my heart racing. NO. There's no such thing as love. I had to stop. But I couldn't look away...STOP.

I blinked back into reality and the girl was halfway up the ladder leading up to the building. Uh oh. I had to leave.

I wheel around and begin to bolt towards the door leading into the building.

"Hey!" she shouts putting me to a stop. I freeze in my position and close my eyes.

I open my eyes and there she is. She has straight, brunette hair blowing in the wind. She is wearing a navy blue hoodie, black leggings, and some gray fur boots. Her shimmering, blue eyes stare at me with confusion.

"Thank you! You saved my life!" she squealed, "By the way, I'm Ariana."

She holds out her hand out for me to shake it. I know I want to, but I don't.

"Wait what's wrong? Did I do something wrong?" she inquires.

I begin to stroll away from her when she suddenly grasps my shoulder. Ariana rubs my shoulder in comfort. I pull away. I can't do this.

"Are you afraid?"

All I can say is, "No."

I can't believe I just did that. I actually talked to this girl.

"So you do talk," she begins, "Well, I'm Ariana. What's you name?"

"Umm..I'm Chase," I mumble taking off my hood.

"Okay, Chase, I know you've already helped me enough, but can you help me find my sister?" she questions with hope.

"Yeah..sure," I respond as I grasp my backpack from ground and swing it over my shoulder.

"Thank you," she replies, "I really appreciate it, Chase."

We climb down the ladder and hop off the dumpster. We step past the zombie's limp body. Ariana and I stroll out of the alley and on the sidewalk and begin walking.

Her hair is hiding her face. I would have been staring into those blue eyes forever.

Sup guys. I know this story is going a little bit into the romance category, but I'm sorry just be patient there will be a little bit of romance. Baiiii vote
