Romeo's heart started to race, echoing the sound into his ear drums. 'What if the bottle, by some fate, lands on Julian?' He thought to himself, playing out scenarios in his head, each one making him blush and get all fidgety, eyes flitting over to the curly-haired boy standing across the circle from him.
"Youhooo! Earth to Romeo!" Macy shouted obnoxiously in his face, alcohol clearly mixed in her breath.
"What?" The tall boy huffed, slightly irritated that he was forcibly pulled away from his fantasies.
"We're playing inside. It's too loud out here, I can barely think!" Julian said, turning his back and sauntering into the house, the rest of the teens following cautiously behind him.
The game was mostly uneventful, a few bashful kisses here and there, people who were already couples glaring jealously as their lovers kiss another person. It was now Romeo's turn to spin the empty beer bottle, the sweat of anticipation coated his palm, only allowing him to give the bottle a pitiful half-turn. The bottle rattled against the marble floor loudly, rolling in an odd direction, until it hit a boy's knee. But to the dark-haired boy's dismay, it was not the boy he was looking to kiss that night.
"Woah, woah, woah! We're related buddy! Do not bring that mouth anywhere near mine!" Benvolio shouted, jumping up from his seated state.
"I wasn't planning to!" Romeo retorted, leaning over to grab the bottle.
"Well R. You lost your chance! Hand it over!" Macy said, alcohol still had a tight grip on her conscience as she teetered over. He reluctantly handed the bottle over, pressing the cool glass firmly into the drunken girl's hand.
