Chapter Three.

"She's not responsive, her eyes remain closed, and she stays immobile, the only sign of life we've been able to get out of her is a name."

"What name?"

"Kali."

The world was spinning. Jessie didn't know where she was, or who she was with, but she could hear voices surrounding her, stating what had been damaged from the blow of the car. She tried to move her hand, but found that unsuccessful, the only thing she did feel moving, was her lips, as she whispered out an unfamiliar name, "Kali." It felt so easy coming off her tongue, but so foreign when it reached her eardrums, she didn't know what the name meant, or who it belonged too, but she had a stirring feeling in her gut, telling her that this 'Kali' person, was someone she needed to find, how, she wasn't sure, but she knew it had to be soon, but just as that thought passed her mind, she heard the doctors last words, "her right shoulder is broken, along with her left patella."

"Jessie, can you hear me?" The last thing Jessie could remember was hearing the doctors discuss what had been broken on her, and a name she could no longer remember. Her eyes were still unwilling to open, but she did her best to nod, "okay, I'm doctor Stevenson, you're on a lot of antibiotics right now, so you're probably just going to sleep again for a little bit, we're going to take care of you okay? You're bones are already set, and healing as we speak, you just need to sleep a little bit more so you can heal okay?" He said softly, and she nodded again, she didn't want to sleep. She wanted to ask the nurses what name she had been saying, that she could no longer remember, but it was no use, she was too heavily sedated, even nodding her head was a work out, so she simply hummed, and let her head loll to the side, as slumber pulled her back under once more.

The next time Jessie woke up, she was no longer feeling like there were weights on every inch of her body, and was able to open her eyes, but as she did, she wished she hadn't, the room was a disaster, as if tragedy had struck, the walls were covered in thick vines and a slime like material, the whole room rang with an ear busting hum, and the vines crawled along every platform, even the bed she laid in, "Kali." She whispered, there was the name again, such a foreign thing, that the very thought terrified her, "get out of my head." She whispered, squeezing her eyes shut, and whimpering as she covered her ears with her hands, "get out of my head! Get out of my head! Get out of my head! Get out!" She cried, her body trembling with fear, the sounds only grew louder, the vines moving faster, "Kali!" She sobbed, curling in on herself as she rocked back and forth, sobbing as she tried to convince herself, "it's not real. It's not real. It's not real." She whispered, but it didn't go away, she was stuck; and she was terrified.

"Jessie, Jessie, hey, hey it's okay, you're safe, you're safe, open you're eyes Jessie, you're okay." A voice whispered, her eyes shot open, and she looked around in panic, she was in the same room, except there were no vines, no slime, nothing. Just plain white walls. She gasped for air as she looked at the multiple concerned looking doctors and nurses surrounding her, "were you having a nightmare sweetheart?" A nurse asked softly, her face twisted in what could only be horror mixed with nausea, "y-yeah." She whispered, her chest rising and falling as she felt sweat drip down her forehead, "j-just a n-nightmare." She whispered, but her simple sentence made the doctors all share horrified glances, "w-what?" She asked, her throat raw as if she'd swallowed a bucket of salt, "Jessie." The doctor that had woken her up whispered, as he looked at her with nothing but concern in his eyes, "you were screaming for two hours. And you were wide awake."
