"I'm not gay." He argued sitting in his new friend Max's room.

I'm not gay. He thought to himself.

"Okay, okay." She put her hands up.

Will always had this small thing for Mike, but when he was talking to him about the day they first met, he fell for the boy full on.

The boys mind repeated Mike's words.

It was the best thing I've ever done.

"You're blushing." Max said snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Huh?" He said looking up. "No I'm not."

"Blushin' Byers." She shot back standing up.

"C'mon let's get to school."

Will blushed darker at the name.

"Its cold.." He said standing up as well.

"Mhm." Max murmoured opening her bedroom door.

Will's blush dropped, smile dropped, as the school came into view.

"Zombie boy." A boy murmoured as he parked his bike.

"Shut up." A boy said.

Will turned around to face Mike, a blush tugging at his cheeks, he smiled.

He knew Max was smiling.

"Ready for the party tonight?" Mike asked glancing at Max.

Max smiled.

"Yea-"

"Freak."

Mike sighed, rolling his eyes, then smiled trying to lighten the mood.

Will swears Mike Wheeler's smile is just contagious, and he smiles too.

Max pulled him aside and whispered, "Blushin' Byers."

His blush darkened, "I'm not gay." He whispered back.

Will couldn't see, but Mike's smile faded behind him.

When Will came back Mike backed away, "I forgot I have to uh do something.." He frowned walking away.

Will furrowed his eyebrows confused.

When he turned around Max was gone.

"Loser." "Zombie boy" "Go back in the woods." "back from fairy land?" "Freak."

Will ran into school, and to the AV club room slamming, and locking the door behind him.

Right after he slid down the door and hyperventilated.

Knock! Knock!

"Will?" he froze. "I saw you run in there."

He didn't respond, trying to catch his breath.

"C'mon open the door.." Mike said calmly.

Will wiped tears he didn't realize he had before opening the door.

"Are you okay? I saw a bunch of kids around you. Did they say something?"

Will didn't reply locking the door again.

"What'd they say?" He asked taking a seat next to Will on the floor.

Will looked at him.

"I should 'go back in the woods'..freak, loser.." Will looked down.

Mike put a hand around Will.

Friends do that right?

"Will..just ignore it okay?"

He didn't respond.

Mike rested his head on Will's shoulder.

Will's heart pounded.

"Ignore them." He sighed.

Neither boy moved, Mike sighed wishing the boy he sat with liked him back.
