Chapter 18: Fight to The Death

I ran around the side of the house and peeked around the corner to see the other guy aiming down the path as he made his way to the backyard. I quietly ran across the grass and stopped at the corner of the mansion. Looking around, I saw the guy was mumbling something over his shoulders. I then realized that he had an earpiece.

"Echo, you there?" he spoke in a deep voice.

I mentally cursed as I realized that Echo was probably the guy I killed.

He started to walk to the other side of the house and I had to think quickly. I focused my powers getting ready to kill him but then realized it would make finding the rest of them a bit harder. Maybe if I 'turn' myself in, he would turn me in to the other guys who was inside the house.

I quickly focused my powers around his gun and manipulated the gravity around the front of the gun so if he does try to shot me, the bullet would just float for a second causing the pressure to weaken which would result in the bullet falling onto the ground.

As the guy almost made a turn around the corner, I slowly stepped out the corner and let out a sigh.

"Hello?" I spoke in a soft tone.

The guy swiftly turned around before aiming his gun at me. I quickly lifted up both my hands in the air as a sign of surrender.

"Boss, I found a girl in the backyard," he spoke as he kept his aim on me. A few silent seconds took over and I assumed he was listening to what was being said on the other side of the earpiece.

He then lifted his gun a little as if it was nodding. "Turn around. We're going inside the house," he ordered as he walked up to me. I placed my hands down and walked back down the side of the house before entering it.

"Living room," the guy ordered. I walked into the living room to see there was some guys walking around. As soon as I stepped into the room, their eyes shifted towards me. I felt a rush of fear overcome me. Quickly counting the guys, I found out there was only 5 of them in the room wish means two of them was somewhere else.

A guy walking into the room and I turned to see he had a black hoodie on. As I gazed upon his face, I couldn't help but feel as if I knew him.

"I found her in the backyard and there's no sign of Echo, Boss," the guy behind me spoke. I watched as his Boss walked around towards me with a smirk on his face which sent shivers down my spine.

"What a lovely surprise," his voice came out playful as he eyed me. My eyebrow rose, "Who are you?"

He let out a little chuckle, "Wow, it's been that long, huh?" he questioned.

I studied his face a bit more then my eyes widened. It was Ross. We were neighbors when I first moved into this town but then his parents just left but I thought he left too. Him and I never really had problems excepting when he would made snarky comments about me when I walked by him and his friend on the way to school.

"What are you doing here?" I asked a bit shocked to see him here especially in Victor's house. Speaking of Victor why isn't he here yet?

"I have unfinished business with Victor," he casually stated.

I opened my mouth getting ready to ask another question but he seemed to have known since he cut me off. "I don't have time to explain," he turned serious before looking at his guys.

"Dez is on the computer downloading all the bank information. Once he's done, we're out of here. Meanwhile, I'm going to check the safes upstairs. Feel free to do whatever you want to her then send her upstairs," he finished off before sending me a wicked smirk.
