"Ok. So let me just sum it all up." Ashton said slowly as he watched the baby and me. "The baby was found on the doorstep of your room and now we have to take custody while the investigation is ongoing?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

Ashton and Luke arrived about ten minutes ago and Michael and I just spent the last ten minutes telling and explaining to them what just had happened. So far, I think Ashton was the only one beside me who's carrying the news well. Luke's been staring at the baby like it was some sort of a weird creature.

"So... uhm." I shifted my weight on my left foot from the right. "I think we're wasting time just standing here."

"Wait. How old is that baby?" Ashton asked before I could even start walking.

I glanced at the baby. I don't have any idea if this is a girl or a boy and I won't have until I get to see that proof under the nappy. I can just guess how old this is. It's too big for a newborn baby. And I think it can already support its head. Maybe 6 to 7 months? "I'm guessing that it's 6 or 7 months." I told them then started walking so they followed me.

"What do we need to buy?" Ashton enthusiastically asked then I found him walking beside me. He looked pretty happy about this, huh? Well, he's always happy about everything so I guess that ain't a surprise.

I glanced at Michael and Luke who looks nervous and awkward. Is Ashton the only one who will handle this properly?

I sighed before answering. "The basics first. We especially need milk, baby bottles and nappies. And, oh. Some clothes, too. Then we need bathing supplies. Some toys, maybe."

Ashton didn't reply. Instead, he just stared at the baby. I would shrug but I don't want to make any sudden movements and wake the baby so I just rolled my eyes. Really! Why do I have this feeling that this baby is like an alien to them?

When we reached the aisle which contains the nappies, I looked for the one that won't cause allergies or rashes. Some babies have sensitive skin and I don't want to take the risk.

"Guys, take that blue one that says hypoallergenic." I instructed them. It was Michael who reached for it and placed it on the trolley.

"Are you sure it'll fit the baby?" Ashton asked, scanning over the other brands.

"I'm guessing but I'm pretty sure about it." I told him then started to walk again.

I was scanning the aisle for anything that we might need when I noticed Ashton grabbing some cotton towels. "Reev, don't we need this for the baby? I mean, there might be times he'll need a towel." He asked me while examining the towels thoroughly; testing the feeling of it on his skin. "I think this is ok. It's pretty smooth and soft." He even added then he placed it on the trolley.

While he was doing that, we were just watching him quietly. Like, we were too freaked out or surprised. Well, I was surprised! I wasn't expecting anyone to actively participate in this activity. It sort of makes him... cute.

I MEAN THE THING HE DID WAS REALLY CUTE.

Well, ok Reev. You're being defensive.

"What?" Ashton asked a few moments later.

"You're so weird." Luke told him.

Ashton chuckled and placed his hands inside his pockets. "I have younger siblings. I do know a thing or two about babies."

I must say I'm impressed. But I didn't. I don't know, it suddenly feels so awkward! "Anyway, let's move on, guys!"

We were at the aisle with the baby clothes when the baby started moving and turning. I tried to rock and sway it while walking but it seems like it just helped on waking it up. At first it was just stretching and blinking and staring. But then it focused on my face and started to move more.
