I was quiet for a few minutes, trying to process what Leonardo just told me.
All I got from it was;
• Apparently, I really am immortal (so cool!)
• Damien is the bad guy, he wants to conquer the world.
• We're all about to die.
"I don't want to die." I whispered suddenly.
"You can't die. You're immortal, remember?" Leonardo said calmly.
Oh, okay. That's great, I think.
"I don't want my cat to die." I said.
Leonardo chuckled, "Do you even have a cat?"
"No. But I was planning on adopting one."
"Don't worry." Leonardo said. "We won't let him win. We have to do something about your situation though."
"What situation?" I whispered.
"You don't remember anything. You don't even know how to use you're powers. If we want to stop Damien, we have to get you to use your powers again."
"Okay."
"I'm going to go now. Meet me in the trunk room tomorrow." Leonardo got up to go.
"Leonardo?"
He turned around. "Yeah?"
I gestured towards my throat.
He smiled sheepishly. "Oh."
He waved his hand.
"Goodnight, Victoria."
"Night."
💀
I was weirdly energetic the next morning, for someone who slept for two hours only.
"Morning, Jane." I said, as I walked into the kitchen.
Jane was sitting in her usual spot by the counter only this time, she was rearing a huge leather-bound boom. She slammed it shut when she saw me.
"Someone's energetic today." She said.
I sighed, "It's just a very beautiful day."
Thunder roared outside.
Jane raised a perfectly arched brow.
"I love gloomy day." I said, stuffing a toasted bread in my mouth.
I can't believe I'm going to learn how to do magic today.
I'll be able to change my eye color, maybe u can learn how to fly too.
I noticed that Jane was staring at me. Not staring at me precisely, but like she was staring through me.
I turned around to see if she was staring at something behind me but there was nothing except a blank wall.
When I turned back around, she was gone.
Just like the wind.
Weird.
💀
The minute the hour hand strikes twelve, I ran towards the trunk room.
Jane and McIntyre have gone to town again. I haven't even left the house yet.
I pushed the door open and walked in. The room was empty. By empty, I mean that everything that was in there before was gone. Except that stupid mirror, an old mahogany table with two chairs around it. One was the chairs was occupied by a certain brown-eyed boy.
"Hey there." He said, smiling.
"Hey. I'm ready to learn some magic." I sat down on the empty chair.
Leonardo laughed as if I had said something funny.
"What?" I asked.
"You think it's that easy?" He asked.
"Um…"
Suddenly the table was covered with books. Lots and lots of books.
I picked one up.
"The History of Magick." I read. "Why do I need to know about the history of magic?"
"To master the art of magic, you have to start from the roots."
"Look at you, sounding wise and stuff." I said.
He smirked. "Well, I'm more than a hundred years old, so…"
I groaned.
"Do you want to know how to do this?" He asked.
The books on the table were floating in air.
"Yes!" I exclaimed.
"You'd better start reading then."
< two freakishly long hours later...>
"I'm tired of reading." I wailed.
"Okay, fine." Leonardo said.
"Please, just let me take a break!"
"Okay."
"I'm begging you! Wait, what?"
Leonardo smiled. "You can take a break. I honestly expected you to give up an hour ago."
I rolled my eyes.
"OK, let's get serious." Leo said. "Do you remember anything from your past?"
"No." I said. "I can't remember anything."
"Anything?"
"No. Nothing." I scanned my mind. "I can't remember anything past this year."
Leo leaned forward. "What do you mean?"
"My earliest memory is my fifteenth birthday." I gasped.
"I can't remember anything! Why can't I remember anything?!""I don't know." Leo frowned.
He suddenly grabbed my hands and his eyes turned golden. I couldn't look away.
He let go as suddenly as he grabbed them.
"What?" I asked, feeling flustered.
"Something's blocking your memory." He said, still staring at me.
"What?"
"We need to find out what happened to you between 1864 and 2016."
"How do we do that?" I asked.
"I had hoped that she'll reach out to you first, but we don't have the time to wait."
"Who?"
Gosh, I hated how I only seemed to have questions. I hated being out of the loop. I hated not remembering anything!
"We have to talk to Jane." Leo answered.
