After class

It was nighttime and Jay and Carlos walked into the girls dorm. Evie was sewing and Mal was facing the wall. She kept on mumbling a song. The boys knocked on the door.

Evie: It's open! They boys walked in. Mal looked at them, groaned and faced the wall again. I'm so glad you could make it, boys.

Mal: Did you have to invite them, Evie? I don't feel like having visitors around.

Evie: Well, you share this dorm with your best friend and the boys are also your best friend.

Carlos: Mal, we need to talk to you.

Mal: Well, I don't want to talk to anyone.

Evie: Is it your period that's making you moody?

Mal: I came off it a few days ago. I just don't want to talk to anyone.

Jay: We're worried about you.

Carlos: This isn't our best friend that we know.

Mal: Welcome to my wicked world.

Evie: Don't Rotten To The Core us, M.

Carlos: We love you, Mal. You might not know that, but we love you.

Mal: Leave me alone! Her voice was very deep and it echoed.

Evie: Mal, is it this school? Are the students not being nice to you?

Mal: I can't say.

Jay: We think it's Audrey.

Mal: It's not Audrey. Her eyes turned green so her friends couldn't se the lie in her eyes.

Carlos: Please talk to us.

Mal: I'm evil. I don't spill.

Jay: I don't steal anymore. We've all changed, Mal.

Mal: Stop saying my name! I'm not Uma! Leave me alone! She grabbed the key, ran into the hallway and she locked the door. I feel like a different person. I don't want to live anymore!

Evie: M...you can find me in the space between. Where four worlds come to meet. I'll never be out of reach. 'Cause you're a part of me so you can find me in the space between. You'll never be alone. No matter where you go. We can meet. In the space between. Evie started crying.

Mal: I'm so lost and confused. She also started to cry.

Jay: You'll always stay in our hearts.

Carlos: Please let us out. The boys cried as well. Mal slipped the key underneath the door. Jay unlocked it and Mal pulled him and Carlos out the door. Mal locked it again and she went to bed.

Jay: Well, that worked.

Carlos: Now isn't the time.

Jay: Touché.

Evie: Carlos, slip the implant underneath the door. Carlos did as he was told. Leave it to me, boys. Wait, this doesn't look like the implant.

Carlos: Bionic eye implants are hard to put into someone's eye when they're sleeping so if you put this ear implant in Mal's ear, it will stick there for the whole day and we'll be able to hear what she says and hopefully, Audrey.

Evie: Cool. Goodnight, boys.

Boys: Goodnight, E. Evie walked over to Mal's bed and her stuck the implant into Mal's ear. She smiled to herself and she got into her bed.

Evie: Mal, I do hope we can find the source to your mood. I love you, fam. She fell asleep.

In the boys dorm.

Jay: Thanks for getting the implant!Carlos. Cool move. He got into his bed.

Carlos: Nice muscles. The two laughed.

Jay: Shut up. Nice fat you've got on you.

Carlos: It's called a six pack, Jay.

Jay: Still, thanks for the implant.

Carlos: We're gonna get our Mal back!

Jay: I can't wait for that to happen.

Carlos: We've worked it out.

Jay: I feel so smart.

Carlos: So do I. I feel a whole lot stronger.

Jay: You we're already strong. You might not be physically but I know you're emotionally strong.

Carlos: Thanks. You were already smart before any of this happened.

Jay: Thanks. Night man. He switched off his lamp.

Carlos: Jay...I know we're men...He was cut off by his own embarrassment.

Jay: Go on.

Carlos: Promise me you won't judge?

Jay: Cross my heart and hope to die.

Carlos: As in a best friend way...I love you.

Jay: I love you too, dude.

Carlos: Does this mean that you don't hate me?

Jay: Why would I hate my best mate?

Carlos: Are you sure you don't hate?

Jay: I'm sure.

Carlos: Positive?

Jay: Positive. The boys fell asleep.
