Chapter 13

We Have To Try-

"Are you sure you're okay?" Mitch asks me. "I'm okay.. I- just have that pit in my stomach. But I'm alright." I tell him.

I sit down on his bed, pulling my knees up to my chin. Taking a deep breath, I pull out my phone. "Kyla has called me 7 times.. and I have 40 messages. Oops." I say laughing. Mitch smiles as me, the cutest smile I have ever seen. He sits down on the bed beside me. We stay silent for a few minutes. "Are you going to call her back?" He says, breaking the silence. I laugh sarcastically. "No," is all I say. I don't want to talk to her right now. All I want to do is enjoy this moment. "Do you want to go swimming?" Mitch's asks smiling. "I don't have any clothes." "I can give you some." "Okay.. let's go!"

He goes into his drawers and gets out some shorts and a big T-shirt. I go to the bathroom to put it on, and then we run to the lake. I stop at the dock. Its probably cold. "How cold is the lake.. exactly?" "Pretty cold!" He yells as he jumps in fearlessly. I still stand at the edge, watching the water ripple. "Come in, the water's great!" He laughs and shivers at the same time. All of a sudden, he grabs my leg, making me fall into the lake. As I fall in, water seeps into my nose and mouth. I start to get dizzy, and feel as if I can't swim. Just then, I feel a arm sweep my up. When I reach the surface I wrap my arms around Mitch's neck, gasping for air. He holds me in his arms as he says that he is sorry over 10 times.

"It's okay Mitch", I reply each time.

After a while he stops saying sorry, and we have fun. Its the most fun I have had in a long time, and I enjoy it. I enjoy being with him.
