"Smile!"
I turned and saw some kid holding a camera up to his face. I rolled my eyes and flashed a fake smile.
The camera let out a bright light and clicked.
"That's one for the yearbook."
He smiled and pranced away, but he was quickly stopped.

"Stalker!"

The douchey yet familiar voice filled my senses. There was my asshole of a boyfriend, Sam Yearly.

"Stop taking pictures of my girlfriend." At this point he had the kid by the collar. I just stood there and watched.
"I'm s-sorry."
Sam raised his hand in a fist, about to make contact with the kid's face.
I turned my head, not wanting to see the horror. Then a voice as clear as day stopped it all.

"Jay!"

A boy with fluffy brown hair came around the corner, running towards the almost- murder scene.
Sam cocked his head to the side and let the kid go.
"Sorry boys, he's new here.. We'll be on our way now!"
The brunette boy pulled the kid away from the crowd.
"What did I tell you about seniors here Jay? Especially Yearly."

"Sorry.. I was just getting pictures for the year book."

The brunette let out a laugh. "Go to class loser."
Jay made his way down the hall, while the brunette approached me. I could now see his deep browns eye clearly.

"Sorry about Jay, he's new," he said.
"Oh it's fine. Sam is just a little over protective."
More than a little actually.
He nodded.
"I'd keep my out for my girlfriend too if she was like you."

I smiled. It was a real one, too.

"Thanks.."
"No problem."

Sam walked over and put his arm around me.
"Hey David, right?"
"Yep."

"You should come eat with us on the left side today, you're always on the right. You seem pretty cool."

David shook his head and smiled.

"Thanks...."

"....but I don't switch sides."
