It's around 11:30pm so I decide it's better to leave the restaurant.

- Hey, let's go, I don't want to be here when the clock hits midnight. - I grab her hand and leave for the course.

- I thought we were going back to our room. - She has a confused look on her face but I don't say anything. We keep walking for 10 minutes before she complains again. - Jamie, where are we going? Do you really want to play at this time of the day?

- Would you just stay calm and trust me for a second? I'm not going to play, well.. that wouldn't be that bad of an idea. - Dakota has a way to look at you like she's about to kill you and right now that's how she's looking at me. - I'm just kidding okay? Trust me here.

- I do trust you, I'm just tired of walking.

- I know something that could help. - I smirk at her and she's doing the same. Christian Grey grew on me. I bend down and throw her over my shoulder, making her giggle.

- Jamie! Put me down.

- It's okay, we're almost there otherwise you'd be on the floor because I'd get too tired too soon.

- Asshole! - She tries to look serious but she fails miserably. - Well, it's not my fault that your lazy ass decided to stop going to the gym.

- Well, it is your fault because of all the exercise we do at home.

- Never heard you complain but don't worry, you go back to your gym, no more "exercise" for you if that's what you want to call it.

- Never heard and never will. Now... - before I can finish what I was about to say and do Dakota starts talking.

- You leave my butt alone. - I can't help but laugh at what she just said.

- What?

- I know what you were going to do so don't you even think about it.

- Fine. - I say, with a smile still on my lips. - We're here though. - I say as I put her down. - Before I turn you around, close your eyes. - She does as she's told so I grab her hands and start talking, I still have a few minutes before midnight. - First of all, I still can't believe you actually came over, I'm sorry I couldn't go to LA to spend the day with you and your loved ones. I'm also sorry that I left without even mentioning your birthday, I was stupid and wasn't thinking. With that said, I love you. I've loved you since the first time I've laid eyes on you, I'll always love you. You're everything I could ever ask for, so strong, so smart, so beautiful; I could use all of the positive adjectives known to existence. You mean the world to me and I'll never let you go. - I look at my wrist watch to make sure I still have time and continue. - I'll forever be grateful for everything you've done for me and the girls, you're always there for us, for me, even when I'm a stupid ass like I was a few days ago. For all of that and more, I love you Dakota, and I still can't believe you're the one I get to share the rest of my life with. - At this point tears are running down both of ours faces. - Turn around love, open your eyes.

In front of her there's a tent with a beautiful picnic table with a cake, flowers, her favorite movies, candy, sleeping bags, blankets, everything. Dakota doesn't move or say anything, the only thing she does is cover her mouth with her hands. - Look up baby.

- What? - She has a confused look on her face, but seconds later she understands. Fireworks of all colors fill up the sky.

I wrap my arms around her waist and put my head on her shoulder. When the fireworks are about to end I finally say: - Happy birthday my love. - She turns around, teary eyes, and wraps her arms around my neck, hiding her face on my chest.

- I love you, so so so much. You're insane for doing this, you know I only wanted to be by your side but thank you, it was so beautiful.

- Just like you.

- Cheesy Dornan.

- For you, always.

- How sweet. But seriously, thank you. What did I do to deserve you?

- I usually ask myself the same question. I love you.

- I love you. Can we go inside now?

- Of course, go ahead. - As she starts walking towards de tent I grab my phone and take a picture of her. So simple, but so beautiful. I really couldn't ask for a better partner.
