(Just a quick note, I am going to keep some chapters short until this story gets more views so thats the way I don t get attached if people don't seem to like it. So I am sorry in advance if this story does not turn out the best but I want to give it a chance!)
Desmond let out a pained groan as light flooded into his vision. "Turn off the sun." Desmond managed to grumble before a coughing fit raked his body. His lungs burned, he felt like his lungs were full of dust, and his mouth was a desert. White hot pain burst through his collar bone.
"Nurse!" A male voice called out from beside Desmond. "Stay with me kid." The voice growled out.
Desmond coughing was eased as a cup was placed to his chapped lips, and cool water flowed down his throat.
"You good now kid?" The male voice questioned.
As Desmond's vision had cleared he could make out the man's appearance. The man was about in his early thirties from what he could tell. He wore a rather long, darkly tan leather jacket that was worn over a grey turtle neck sweater. On his head, he wore a grey cap that covered his brown hair, and cast shade over his almost glowing emerald eyes. "I'm fine." Desmond managed to croak out. "Who are you?" Desmond asked, his own words shaking.
The man let out a small laugh as he sat down in the chair beside the hospital bed. "Names Aiden Pearce. It comes to my attention that you had saved my sister Nicole. For that I wish to thank you for risking your life for her. Though in order for me to thank you I need to know your name. So, kid, what do I call you?" The man asked. Resting an elbow on the bed rail.
Desmond raised an eyebrow at the man. There was something about him that felt almost dangerous, that almost made him hold his tongue. "Didn't your sister tell you my name? Speaking of Nicole, how is she? Is she okay?" Desmond asked, the worry evident in his voice.
"She is fine. I took her home after making sure you were okay." Aiden smiled at Desmond. "Yeah, she told me your name, but I figured it would be nice to ask."
Desmond smiled slightly, and nodded. "Well then in that case, names Desmond Miles. Nice to meet you Aiden Pearce, brother of Nicole Pearce." He laughed slightly in amusement.
Aiden nodded slightly then pulled out a pen and paper from his pocket, writing something down on the paper before handing it to Desmond. "I have to get going." He stated, standing. "I have to go tell Nicole that you are alive. If you are ever in trouble, call that number." He said, as he turned and started to walk to the door. "Hey kid, be careful. The streets are dangerous here. I don't want to find you dead anywhere." Aiden said, staring at Desmond.
Desmond nodded in response. "Of course." He croaked out in response. "Right back at you." He shot back with a grin. With his words, Aiden let out a hum then slipped out the door, most likely to never see Desmond again. Little did Desmond know; their fates were bound to cross again in the mere future.
