Chapter 5

Mandy’s POV:

The rest of the school day went by like a blur.  That was until lunch.  I went and got my school lunch like all of the rest of the kids.

Then, I walked over to where Amber, Karen, Cassidy, Jared, and Blake all sat.  They were my closest and best friends anyone could ask for.  I loved those guys.  (In a friend love way).

“Hey guys what’s up?” I asked them all.  Cassidy squealed at me, “Have you seen the new guy?  He is so hot!” She emphasized on the so.  I sat down and grunted.  She just gave me this astonished face, like OMG you’ve got to be kidding look.

“What’s gotten into you?” Jared asked me with a bit of concern showing on his face.  “He’s a jerk,” I stated bluntly.  “I don’t like him.  Just wait, he will probably run right over to Emily,” I grumbled.  I really hated that chick.

“She’s just jealous, that he is coming over to my house on Friday night,” Amber said mischievously.  “What!?  He’s coming to your house?  How could you invite him?  He is such a bastard, and you know I don’t like him!” I growled.

She scooted a little bit away from me.  “I thought it would be good for you two to go get acquainted.  I think he is really nice. You just have to get to know him,” Amber whispered.

There she goes again trying to hook me up with someone.  “He stood up for me earlier when Emily came and barged right into me,” She whispered again.  “I don’t think he will hook up with Emily…….I think he likes you.”

I just stared at her.  “YOU think he likes ME?!?!  He doesn’t like me, let alone want to be near me!” I argued.  She cowered away from me and I sat back facing my lunch.

I felt really bad for getting mad at Amber and talking to her that way.  “Sorry for talking to you like that,” I mumbled.  “I just get annoyed by him.  And, it’s not your fault that he acts like that towards me,” I apologized.

“Does that mean that you will come to my house on Friday?  Karen, Jared, Blake, Cassidy, and some of my cousins are going to be there too!” She exclaimed, clearly forgetting our earlier argument.

“For you yes,” I told her.  “But, for that bastard Brady, No way!” I told her firmly.  She hugged me and everyone at the table went back to there earlier discussions.  I just wondered to what I had gotten myself into.

Suddenly I felt a tingly sensation run through me once again.  I looked to the entrance of the school cafeteria to lock eyes with Brady Gladens.  He smirked at me and walked over to the lunch line.  Wow, he was really getting to me.  I looked past him to see my evil enemy.

Emily Wenshuff, my sworn enemy, walked in right behind him, with her arms linked together with my ex-boyfriend Zach’s arms.  She gave me one of her popular evil smiles.  I smirked at her and Zach while I turned back to my lunch.

Really?  Brady had to choose to hang out with them?  Why of all people them?  Amber was wrong.  He did so not like me.  I was wondering if it was just to tick me off.  I had a feeling that was the reason.
