Lance's POV

"You shot someone."

"I shot someone."

It seemed like the quick run down of what happend that evening had not been recieved very well. I didnt blame her really, but Monica could at least pretend to be surprised.
The knowledge that she expected that type of shit from me had me low-key offended to be quite honest.

"Lance, you dickhead, you're supposed to the older one, why cant you act like it for once.." She sounded absolutely exhausted, almost enough for me to feel bad, almost.

"We left him lying on the tracks mabye the train will get him first..?"

"...are seriously implying we should wait for the train to run him over and pretend this entire situation isnt all your fault to begin with?"

"....yes..?"

"......"

"...."

"Hold on. im gonna go fetch the gun real quick, tell mom i love her, and that I just couldnt deal with her son's bullshit any longer."

Monica started walking off, and i followed soon after. I shoved my way in front of her and blocked the entrance to mom's room, and we simply continued to shout at each other back and forth.

Lucas shifted where he laid on the couch, asleep. He had fallen asleep soon after the cops had stopped banging on door. The only sound apart from our continuous shouting came from the TV, which lucas had turned on only minutes before he had passed out on the couch.

"Breaking News; today approximately 15 minutes ago, here in the city of Los Angeles, local authorities received calls of apparent use of cannibalism. We stand here at the scene, where authorities have gathered to investigate, but so far no further information on the situation has been released. We'll keep you updated as the scene unfolds. Stay tuned."

    Monica's POV

"Wake up, asshole."

I said before litteraly throwing myself on top of lance's sleeping figure. His sharp hip bones hurt a bit but it was worth the pained grunt i recieved in return.

"Five more minutes."

"Sure. I mean we're already an hour late, might as well just get a few more minutes of sleep..."

And just like that he bounced up off the bed, and i found myself seriously asking myself if i had ever seen him move that fast.
Although, as he got up he shoved me off and i landed in a heap a few feet away from the bed with a thud.

"Geez, give me a fucken heads up first will you.."

"Why didnt you wake me up earlier?" Lance demanded, his light, hazel eyes suddenly looking a lot less hazy.

"Thats because i actually just woke up half an hour ago. Cant you see i havent gotten dressed yet?"

"You had half an hour to wake me up."

"It takes me a while to completely wake up myself, and you know that, dont pin this on me." I lazily got up and turned on my heel to leave. I had to go wake up lucas, he had decided to crash here the night before.

"Well hurry up, or im not giving you a ride." He stated.

"Its fine. Im skipping first block period today."

"You cant just-"

" its mile day, and moms not home, dont make this difficult. Just let me have my peace." I continued down the hall.

I could hear lance sigh from a  distance.

When i got to the livingroom Lucas was gone. I looked around in confusion untill i heard shuffling in the kitchen. Guess i didnt need to wake him up afterall.

Take that as my que to leave, i wandered back into lance's and I's shared room and took my glasses off the nightstand that sat between our two beds.
I rarely wore them instead of my contacts since my prescription was so strong, that i had what lance described as 'bottlecap lenses'.
Not to mention how fucking small they made my eyes look.

Regardless they would do for the 2 hours i had left to laze around at home.

The night before, lance and i came to a somewhat (completely) forced agreement. We would, as he had suggested, 'wait untill the train gets him first'.

I was actually completely against the idea, mabye i should have made them go back outside and shoot the guy one more time. Y'know, just to make sure he would say anything if he had somehow survived.
But the more i thought about it the worse it sounded.

So since we were both tired and couldnt seem to come up with a better idea, we simply left it at that. As much as i regretted it now, i knew there was no changing lance's mind.
____

Sure enough, as i passed by the tracks two hours the later, i found the area closed off with yellow tape. There seemed to be a body laying across the tracks, strange dark brown liquid appeared to have seeped through the cloth that covered it.

I saw a police officer standing near by, but no train in sight.

Guess he really did end up bleeding out or something.

Just then i thought i saw a blurr of movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look down at the mangled body across the tracks but saw no further sign of movement.

Had that been my imagination just then?

I suddenly felt eyes on me, and my own green eyes settled on the police officer that i had been staring at before, who now stared back.
I averted my eyes as casually as i could and continued along my merry way.

____

"Alright class, there are five more  mimutes remaining, you may start heading out if you like- and remember, if one of the supervisers catches you outside, you're from Mr. Davis' criminal justice. Have a good weekend, see you all on monda-!"

Before anyone could head out, there was a sudden message through the intercom.

"Good morning, teachers and students, please excuse the interuption. Teachers please keep all students in for break untill further notice.  I repeat teachers please keep all students inside the classroom untill further notice."

There were a few groans but eventually our Mr. Keppler was able to get everyone one to sit back down.

Everybody sat in relative silence for the next 20 minutes. The message had been replayed 3 more times, each time with more urgency,  through the intercome and people were starting to get antsy, nervous even.

After the last replay of the message the chatter started back up, but it was of mostly uneasyness rather than comraderie.

There was a gunshot,

Everybody sat still, quiet.

Then we all stood at once.
