Chapter 8: In The Dark Of The Night

Shadow's P.O.V.

In was in the middle of the night when I woke up. I quietly got up and left the camp. At the edge of the camp, I looked back at Nichole's tent and whispered, "I'm sorry." I then walked away, disappearing into the shadows.

-----Small Time Skip-----

I came across an old castle. My castle. "Good evening, your majesty," Yami, a shapeshifter, said. I nodded in reply as I walked towards the center of the castle. Yami followed and along the way, more shapeshifters joined us. As I reached the center of the castle, I looked at my shapeshifters.

I turned around seeing a few shapeshifters, now, in front of me. I let out a sigh and began singing. "In the dark of the night, I was tossing and turning. And the nightmare I had was as bad as could be. It scared me out of my wits, a corpse falling to bits! Then I opened my eyes and the nightmare was me!"

There were a few gasps from the shapeshifters. I sang on. "I was once the most respected man in the world. When the brothers betrayed me, they made a mistake!" I looked at the picture I had of the questers. "But one little boy got away! Little Bendy, beware, Aku no's awake!"

The shapeshifters began to sing with me. "In the dark of the night, evil will find him. In the dark of the night just before dawn!" I couldn't help but chuckle slightly. "Revenge will be sweet..." "When the curse is complete!" I looked at Yami seeing the smirk on his face.

The shapeshifters began to spread out around me. "In the dark of the night..." "He'll be gone!" I sang feeling a slightly insane smile form. "I can feel that my powers are slowly returning! Tie my sash and a dash of cologne for that smell!" Yami had tied my sash by this point. I gave a small smile  in thanks.

"As the pieces fall into place, I'll see him crawl into place!" I looked at the picture of Bendy and grinned before tearing it away from the rest of the picture. "Proshchay (Goodbye), Bendy, my friend, farewell!" I listened to the shapeshifters. "In the dark of the night, terror will strike him."

"Terror's the least I can do!" I heard Yami mumble, "That it is." He stood by my side listening to the shapeshifters. "In the dark of the night, evil will brew. Ooh!" "Soon he will feel..." The shapeshifters began to spread out more. "That his nightmares are real."

"In the dark of the night..." I grinned a bit more. "He'll be through!" I looked at Yami hearing a slight chuckle. "In the dark of the night, evil will find him." "Find him." My eyes widen slightly hearing Yami sing. He rarely sings. It's even more rare for him to sing with us.

"Ooh! In the dark of the night, terror comes true." "Doom him!" Yami sang again. Maybe he'll sing more. "My friend, here's a sign..." "It's the end of the line!" Yami and I sang together. The shapeshifters began to turn into bats. "In the dark of the night... In the dark of the night..."

I grinned and gave them the signal to begin flying. Yami quickly shifted into a bat and lead them. "Come my minions. Rise for your master. Let your evil shine! Find him now. Yes, fly ever faster." I watched the shapeshifters as they flew out of the castle.

"In the dark of the night... In the dark of the night... In the dark of the night..." I couldn't help but grin. "He'll be mine!" The last of the shapeshifters left. But not too long after, a lone bat flew back to me. It confused me.

"Why have you returned, Yami?" I asked. He shifted to his normal self. "Just out of curiosity, when will the new queen be here?" I smiled slightly. He was worried about Nichole. "As long as all goes well, she will be here soon," I said with a grin.

Yami looked outside before saying, "You may want to head back soon. It is almost dawn." I nodded. "Alright. As long as all goes well, I will see you before the week ends," I said. Yami smirked. "See you then, your majesty," he said. I turned around and left.

I was almost back to the camp when I was stopped by someone. "When do you plan on telling Nichole the truth?" Bendy asked with a slight growl. I turned to face him and grinned. "Never!" I said before hitting him, knocking him out. A couple of shapeshifters caught him before he hit the ground.

After they took Bendy away, I looked to my left. There stood a shapeshifter, though you couldn't tell. They looked exactly like Bendy. "What did we just get done doing?" I asked. 'Bendy' smirked then said, "We just got done going for a small walk." They even sounded like Bendy. I grinned.

"Perfect."
