Chapter 13.5: Getting Him Back And Gaining Allies

Cuphead's P.O.V.

Thankfully there wasn't much of a fight as we entered the castle. Then again, we did have Shade held captive. If it wasn't for the fact that we needed Shade to get the shapeshifters to do what we wanted, I would have already blown his head off.

-----Time Skip-----

Hunter lead us down to the dungeon. Once we got there, Boris and I immediately began to check the cells. I had just finished my side, there was no one in any of the cells. I turned around and looked at Boris. "Anything or anyone?" I asked. Boris shook his head. This didn't make any sense.

We went back to the others. "Well?" Mugs asked. "All the cells were empty," Boris said. I looked at Hunter. "I thought you said he was down here," I said. I felt tears trying to form. "He was when I last saw him. He can't be too far," he said.

"Were there any others who didn't like working for Shade?" Felix asked. Hunter went quiet as he tried to think. "There was only one other person that I know of," Hunter said after a couple minutes. "Who's that?" Mickey asked. "Me," a voice said behind me.

Mugs and I quickly locked eyes. I slowly turned around and saw King Dice. But I thought he worked for the devil? Maybe he's changed. "You traitor!" Shade yelled pulling against his restraints. I looked at him and pointed my finger gun at him. He stopped struggling.

I looked back at Dice keeping my finger gun aimed at Shade. "Do you know where he is?" I asked. "You need to be more specific on who 'he' is," Dice said. I had a feeling he knew who I was talking about. "Bendy. Do you know where Bendy is?" I asked.

Dice smiled a bit. "I do know where he is," he said. "Could you take us to him?" Boris asked. I was relieved when Dice nodded. A few shapeshifters walked up behind Dice. At first I thought they were going to attack but then I saw the looks on their faces.

Anger, hate, even disgust was on their faces. And all of it was directed towards Shade. "You know what to do," Dice said, showing no emotion while looking at Shade and 'Bendy.' Those who were surrounding them moved as the shapeshifters went over to Shade and 'Bendy.'

"Good riddance to bad rubbish," Oswald mumbled. It wasn't long before the shapeshifters disappeared around the corner with Shade and 'Bendy.' I looked at Dice and asked, "Where is he?" "Straight to the point, I see. Very well. Follow me," Dice said as he turned around.

Dice had led us to his room. Sure enough, Bendy was there. Along with Shadow. I held Bendy close, worried. Six, nearly seven days and he hasn't woken up. I leaned down and gently kissed Bendy on the lips. If someone didn't know we were together, they do now.

"I'm sure he'll be alright, Cuphead," Shadow said. I looked at him with a small smile. "Cups," I said, "You can just call me 'Cups'." Shadow smiled. "Alright, Cups," he said. I looked at Bendy feeling him shift. He's finally made some kind of movement.

I looked up hearing the door open. There stood a toon who looked similar to Shadow but he wasn't as dark and didn't have any highlights. He was holding a plate of food. "There you are, Yami. I was fixing to come find you," Dice said.

Yami smiled slightly and said, "Sorry it took so long. I had to make sure I had enough food for everyone." "Were you expecting us?" Nikki asked. Shadow smiled slightly. "It's kind of hard not to expect you when you were seen from the window," he said.

A few of us smiled. I was still a bit confused on how Shadow knew Yami. I guess Shadow saw the look on my face because he said, "Yami is my right hand man." I nodded. Shadow and I suddenly looked at Bendy hearing him let out a slight groan. My grip loosened slightly as his eyes opened.

He weakly looked at me and said, "C-Cup-py...?"
