"you're back." he said, turning his head to the source of the sound. sarah closed the door behind her, slipping out of her sneakers. he notices her face, how tired she looks, but to him she's glowing. she always does.

"want some pasta?" she offered, putting her black bag on the couch beside him.

"sure, thanks." he wants to say something else, anything, but didn't find a word. she heads towards the kitchen, preparing for the food. he set his mind up and stand on his feet, walking towards her figure.

just when he was about to pat her shoulder, his phone rings. he curses inside his head, pulling out his phone from his pocket. his face darken as he sees the caller, alice. sarah who's facing him in surprise catch a glimpse of the screen, her face softening. "answer it. don't give up at her."

he's debating in his mind. sarah or her?

"go on. she is fighting for you, you should too." she said in a soft voice, almost motionless. she turns back to focus on her cooking.

he hesitantly slide the answer button, putting  the phone on his ear. he let her speak first. "brendon!"
somehow her voice annoyed him. "it's not what you think! he pushes his self on me!" you initiated the kiss, not him. "come back please! i love you!" it's just lust.

love is sarah.

"brendon, please." the girl sobs, saying his name again and again. sarah can hear her voice, and she notices something. she never apologizes.

"go, brendon. don't make a girl cry." don't hurt her like you hurt me.

"i..." he was hesitant, looking at her and them at his phone. he doesn't know what to do or how to react.

"go." finally she turns around, returning his stare with her glassy ones. her eyes that once filled with happiness and love, now were filled with sadness and disappointment. his heart twisting at the sight. he wants to wipe her tear away, but not sure if he deserves to do that anymore.

without a word, he slowly walks backward. they keep their eyes on each other as he reach the door, before he turn around and left.

for a second time.
