I am all the colours of the rainbow

Though people think I'm red and yellow

I am one of man's greatest discoveries

I feed those who were once hungry

I am lighter than the feathers of a dove

I am a symbol of passion and love

I overcome the darkness by making it alight

I just need an answer to this: Who am I?

When I'm awoken people cry in pain

Countries, destroyed, because of me in vain

I am the embodiment of destruction and war

I kill mercilessly with blood and with gore

I am one of man's greatest mistakes

Most likely, you'll always fear is me as a lake

My only weakness is what keeps you alive
