Chapter 4
I had started showing her some of my little tricks to make her giggle. Like, for example, when I made the illusion of snakes appear in other prisoners' food or made the guards see each other as highly attractive women.
I had never met someone with the same sense of humor as myself. It was refreshing to say the least.
She told me about her family and village, but I neglected to tell her of mine. Hell, she probably already knew and just didn't say anything. I mean really who didn't know already?
If she did know, then she didn't seem to mind and I liked having a friend of my own instead of Thor's friends pretending to put up with me as they had while growing up. I was terrified of loosing what I had found in her.
Something that had confused me so much in the beginning finally made some bit of sense.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Her voice brought me out of my thoughts and back to the present.
I shook my head, letting out a soft chuckle, "I didn't even realize I was."
I glanced her way and noticed the strange look she gave me with one of her slender brows raised and her arms folded tightly against her chest as if she were uncomfortable.
Then I realized I had been smiling at her and a light blush began creep onto my cheeks.
I turned away not wanting her to see my embarrassment. I hadn't even realized I had been smiling at her like a creep.
Then I heard her soft laughter and my embarrassment dissolved. The sound sent a shiver through my whole body, but in a good way. I had come to crave that sound, like a favorite melody that won't leave your mind no matter how hard you try to rid yourself of it.
I didn't turn back to her, but I reveled in that glorious sound, taking in a deep breath.
Then, suddenly, my joy turned to dread and the weight of her sentenced hit me like a ton of bricks and I let out a soft sigh. The thought of her impending death seemed to haunt my thoughts, never ceasing to pull at my heart, day and night.
I had spoken to Frigga about the matter the last time she had visited me, well at least her body double.
Odin had forbidden her to visit me, but she found her own ways around the rules. Using the same illusions and magic she had taught me, to worm her way around the Allfather's command.
She had promised to try her best to at the very least lesser her sentence. It gave me a small sliver of shining hope in an other wise dark situation.
But of course I knew she'd have to be careful with her words. If Odin found out she had found a way to see me there would be a heavy consequence.
Frigga 's Pov
I took in a heavy breath before marching with my head held high with more confidence then what truly lay in my heart. I was quite weary of the task ahead of me.
Convincing my stubborn husband to change his mind would prove a heavy challenge indeed.
As I approached Odin, I went over my words carefully in my mind as I had nearly a hundred times before hand.
I would tell him I had heard speak of the girl from the whispers of others. Loki's name would not slip through my lips, not once. If it did he would know of my deceit.
He stood up from his thrown at my arrival and I smiled warmly at him.
"Ah, my queen what brings you to see me?" he gave me a small smile.
I did not hesitate with my words as I watched my husband with careful eyes.
"I have heard whispers of a young girl who is sentenced to death and awaits her fate in our prisons. Is this true?"
Of course I already knew this to be true and Odin did not hold the truth from me either.
"Yes it is true."
I gave him a stern gaze hoping I could match his stubbornness.
"Is there no way else to punish her? She is only a young girl after all."
Odin shook his head, seeming to pick up on something that was left unsaid.
"You know I cannot. Her punishment fits her horrendous crime." he turned away apparently done talking about it, but I was not.
"Hasn't she suffered enough? From what I have heard she witnessed her entire village fall beneath her feet because of her unknowing actions."
He seemed to mull this over a moment letting out a heavy seemingly defeated sigh.
"I shall think over the situation. This is all I will promise."
The look he gave me told me this was all I would get out if him, but at least I had done my best and perhaps given my son a small sliver of hope.
Odin's Pov
I watched as my beloved wife walked away seemingly satisfied with my words. She thought she had me fooled but I knew it was not the whispers of others that had brought her to me, it was Loki.
Her love showed no boundaries. This was one of the many reasons I loved her so.
Shortly after her departure Heimdall appeared, a knowing look ever present in his eyes.
"I know why your are here and there is nothing that can be said. I have already made up my mind and nothing will change it." I spoke with great authority, as the man before me gave a subtle nod.
"This will not end well, my king.
Loki..." I cut off his sentence with a loud grunt.
"Loki." I spat his name with such venom. "Deserves nothing less, then what is to be done."
(Sorry it took awhile but there where technical difficulties. I hope you enjoy and chapter 5 should be done shortly. Also keep an eye out for my Tom Hiddleston Fanfic that I'll hopefully be posting soon :D love ya all! 💚💚💚💚)
