Chapter 9

A/N: I don't own TVD or Twilight. I only own Clio. I'm sorry for not updating for ages. I've been ill for the past year but I'm hoping to update more regularly. Thanks for all your comments - they always brighten my day!! Anyways, it's Halloween tomorrow!!!! I hope you enjoy this chapter, L :)

I stepped out of Leslie and walked up to Bella, my heeled boots clicking on the tarmac. "Hi!" I said to her as she looked up with a thoughtful expression, "How are you feeling?" I continued with a concerned look. "Oh, I'm fine." The look she gave me said that she thought the Cullens weren't human. I gave her a nod with a smile saying, "That's great-" I started but was interrupted by a teacher I couldn't be bothered to remember. "Make sure I get your permission slips." I groaned. I forgot we had a school trip today. Yay!! I thought.

My shoulders tensed as I heard footsteps before I saw Mike heading towards us. I put on a fake smile. "Look! You're moving. You're alive!" I rolled my eyes and started to grab my bag from Leslie as Bella muttered a reply back to Mike. As I was about to get my phone out (yep, I'm addicted to my phone... Don't judge me!), my eyes wandered across the car park to where Edward, Alice and Jaspar Cullen were standing by a silver Volvo – frowns on their faces as they talked. Probably about the text I sent. Whoops...(note the sarcasm). I sent that text with a blocked number so they were probably trying to figure out who sent it. I couldn't be bothered to use my vampire hearing to hear what they were saying(I'm lazy, ok?) so I turned back to Bella and Mikes conversation.

"You want to go? To prom. With me?" Mike awkwardly asked Bella, who looked like a deer caught in headlights. I nearly snorted at her shocked expression but I was able to contain myself. Her face slowly morphed into a horrified expression as her brain finally processed what he had just asked. "Prom. As in dance. I – uh-" Her eyes widened as she looked at me with an expression that looked like she was constipated. "Bella and I are going to Jacksonville." I stepped in. As Bella nodded her head with a "Yeah, sorry" to Mike. Although I love to see Bella struggle, I knew I would regret it later if I didn't help. "You sure you can't make it-" My attention was cut off by a tap on my shoulder.

A tall-ish jock stood infront of me, an arrogant smirk gracing his face. "Hey babe." I internally cringed at the pet name. "Wanna go to Prom with me?" This was my turn to smirk. "Um, no." I replied sassily to him, wiping that annoying smirk off his face. Before he could open his mouth the teacher called for everyone to get seats on the bus. I swiftly grabbed Bella by the arm (Something I was doing a lot recently) and dragged her to the bus. "Ready for the community college greenhouses?" The teacher asked as we handed in our slips. Greenhouses? Fuck no.

~~Next Day~~

(A/N: Clio's outfit below)

The greenhouses were boring AF – all the teacher did was drone on and on about "AMAZING BIOLOGY" that I couldn't be bother to listen to

The greenhouses were boring AF – all the teacher did was drone on and on about "AMAZING BIOLOGY" that I couldn't be bother to listen to. The only thing interesting that happened was that Bella had a conversation (WOW! I never knew Bella could have a conversation...) with Edward Cullen, who basically told her to stay the fuck away from her. Pardon my language (can I sound any more British!?!) – old habits die hard I guess.

"Clio???" A voice snapped me back into reality as everyone on our lunch table stared at me expectantly. "Oh, sorry. What were we talking about?" I replied trying to be polite with a fake sweet smile. Gosh, I should be an actress. "La Push, baby. You in?" Eron, no, Erin said. Or was it Eric?? Whoops. "Should I know what that means?" Bella asked confused. "La Push beach, down on the Quileute rez. We're all going after school. Big swell coming in." Mike explained to us. Waitttt, Mike was still Bellas friend? So awkward. "And I don't just surf the internet." Eric added, winking at me. Why is he winking at me?? I rolled my eyes to avoid cringing at what he just said. "Eric, you stood up once. On a foam board." Jessica exclaimed with an unimpressed voice. "There's whale watching, too. Come with." A nice girl called Angela said – trying to persuade Bella to come ('cause I'm just invisible...).

Bella looked really convinced but torn at the same time. "La Push, baby." Eric said one more time. That's such an annoying phrase. "I'll go if you stop saying that." Looks like Bella agreed with me. Does this mean I have to come too? I hope not. Bella stood up muttering she had to get something from the 'salad bar' – I mean, who gets stuff from that germ infested place? Gross. I looked across the 'cafeteria' and spotted 'the gods' table ('gods' meaning the Cullens). It looked to everyone else that they were in silence but I could see they were talking with their vampire 'powers'. Their trays were filled with food and, according to Elijah, they couldn't eat any human food. Sucks to be them (not meant to be a pun).

The bell rung loudly throughout the high school that signalled it was the end of lunch. I remembered that it was my History lesson again, or, as I knew, Jaspar Time. I turned around to say goodbye to Bella but saw that she wasn't there. For a vampire, I'm very bad at observations! You think I would learn after 1000 years...

I walked into class and sat beside Jaspar, who surprisingly smiled at me. Is the world ending today or something? "Good Afternoon class. I know that it's the afternoon and it's a Friday-" Wait, it's a Friday?? Finally – YASSSSSSSSSS. "-so today we are going to be watching a documentary about The Tudors." Great. Now I can go on my phone instead of watching something I witnessed first-hand.

The lights were dimmed as the teacher started to play the documentary – a dull voice narrating. My hand slipped into my bag – finding my phone within seconds, I turned my phones brightness down to the lowest level so that I wouldn't 'be spotted'. That wouldn't be much of a worry as the teacher was already dozing off.

"Hey Clio." Jaspars attractive southern accent began. "What's your surname?" He questioned. I looked at him for a second before speaking. "That's for me to know and for you to find out." I replied – giving out my surname would jeopardise mine and Bellas life here.

"Why won't you tell me?" He asked with genuine intrigue.

I smiled at him. "Where's the fun in that?"
