Steve had been laying in the same position on the couch motionless. Life seemed to stand still. Sam had stopped by earlier to check on him, again. He was worried about Steve. He wasn't eating- or doing anything for that matter. Sam had been stopping by more frequently too. He was beginning to force feed Steve if he had too. For the past week this had been the daily routine. The TV channel had stayed on the news; they were still talking about the death of Tony Stark. Steve stirred on the couch and turned towards the television. His eyes were pure red and extremely puffy with dark bags under them from lack of sleep. He sniffled his nose and sat up.

He decided he couldn't stay like this forever so he got up and walked into his bedroom. He needed to take a shower for sure. He grabbed a pair of jeans and boxers. He walked over to bed and picked up a white shirt from the ground. It was one of Tony's shirts. It smelled like him. He wasn't exactly sure how to describe the smell of Tony, but he loved it. He folded the shirt neatly and place it on the end of his bed, not really knowing what else to do, and then entered the bathroom. The water was nice and warm and felt good on his back. He rubbed his hands through his hair and there were silent tears that  strolled down his cheeks but were washed away with the water.

After he got out of the shower, he dried off and put on his boxers and jeans. He put on deodorant and then slid on his shirt. He ruffled a towel through his hair and looked into the foggy mirror. He noticed that his eyes were still puffy red. He walked out of the bathroom and sat back down on the couch. He was still extremely depressed. His phone rang. He just ignored the ringing but on the fourth ring, right before it went to voicemail, he picked it up and hit answer. He didn't say anything.

"Hello? Steve? It's Natasha. I know that the past week has been really hard on you. But we have very important news. It's extremely urgent and can't wait. Please, meet Fury and I at SHIELD HQ. We need to talk about some things. I know that you can hear me. You may not want to talk, but Fury does." Natasha hung up the phone. Steve slowly lowered his phone from his ear and stood up. He sniffled his nose again wiping away tears that had formed. He grabbed his leather jacket and left.

He arrived at the SHIELD headquarters and paid the cab driver. Before walking in he tried to calm down the best he could so the puffy red eyes would return to normal. He took a deep breath and walked through the doors. He kept his head low trying to hide his eyes. As he walked to the front desk, the lady immediately stopped typing on her computer and looked up. "Captain Rogers, I'm  so sorry for your loss." Steve just rubbed the back of his neck trying not to let the tears form. "I'm..." Steve choked on his words, "I'm looking for... for Nick Fury." The woman got up from her desk. "Follow me." She said and they started walking. Steve noticed that all the Shield agents he passed would stare at him. He just ignored the stares and kept his head low.

"Right through there." The lady said pointing to a set of double doors. "And again, I'm so sorry."

Steve didn't say anything and just walked through the doors. The room was rather small and saw a desk on the right side along with another set of double doors. There was a lady behind the desk- the receptionist. Before Steve could say anything to the lady, she spoke, "Right through there, and I'm sorry for your-" Before she could finish Steve slightly nodded in understanding and walked through the other set of doors. Nick Fury was sitting behind a desk in the middle of the room as if he was waiting for Steve, which he was. Maria Hill was also there along with Natasha and Phil Coulson. "We have news." Fury said as Steve closed the door.

He didn't say anything. He just sat down in a chair across from Fury's desk. "Steve." Natasha started to explain, "Remember when you thought Phil died? Or when Fury died?" Steve slowly nodded in confusion to why he was here. "We have that special drug remember. The alien blood that brought us back to life, along with many high-tech machines and the best doctors in the world." Coulson said. Steve was starting to realize why they wanted him here.

Tony

"The point is," Fury began, "is that we can revive the dead. But we only can use it on the most important people. The people we can't live without. The drug is too rare. But seeing what has happened in the past week, we want to send Tony to the facility. But we need your permission." Steve was now looking up at Fury listening to every word. Maria Hill now spoke up, "Both Fury and agent Coulson have gone through this procedure successfully with limited side effects." Natasha walked and stood next to Steve. "What do you think Cap?" She said looking at him.

"If there is a chance that we can bring back Tony, then I'll take it." Steve said in a quiet voice. "What are the side effects?" Coulson and Fury exchanged glances. "Nothing really that we know of." Coulson said shrugging. "Well, there is the nauseous feeling for about a week and dizziness. But that's all in recovery." Fury added. "Let's do this." Steve said standing up. "Where is the body?"

"Well, we already had set things up and all talked about it, assuming that you would say yes. The facility is an underground base in Peru and we already have everything ready for operation. All I need to do now is call and approve the operation. We were just waiting for your approval." Fury said picking up his phone. He dialed in a few numbers and put the phone up to his ear. "This is Nick Fury. Operation is go." He waited for reply and then hung up the phone. "Wait. I want to be there when they work on him." Steve said suddenly. Fury glanced over to Natasha. "I'm on it." She said. "Follow me Steve."

They walked into the elevator and went down to the base where the jets and helicopters were. "I already have a small jet ready for flight." She said as they walked over to a jet. The back was open and they walked in.

"It is a 12 hour operation and we will arrive in Peru in about 6 hours. Let's go." Natasha said as they sat down in the cockpit. The back of the jet closed and they started it up.
