Brooke was traumatized by the events that had just occurred. She didn't know what to think. What was going to happen to Devin, was he alive, was he going to die. She didn't want to think too hard because she felt as if she might start to cry if she thought of all the possibilities of Devin's fate. All she knew, was that she had to find him, before any of the things she had already thought of, actually happened. "Miles, do you know, where the nest might be?" She asked, looking for any hope at all for a way to get Devin back. "No, but, don't worry, we will get him back. I will make sure of it." He reassured her. As they walked, Brooke heard many sounds, of human, and alien in the city. "Maybe we should stop for shelter," Brooke said, obviously scared of the outside world. "Yeah, it's getting pretty dark. Yeah, we can stop for shelter." Miles said as if he had any control at all over the situation. Miles was the most loyal guy that Brooke could ever find. He would do anything for her. He would kill a million aliens if he physically could for her. They found a small shed in the back of a torn down house. Miles knocked on the door, as Devin had shown him many times to do before entering any structure, big or small. After about thirty seconds of listening to anyone or anything on the inside, he opened the door with his machete raised to attack. When he confirmed that the coast was clear, they both stepped inside and lit a small fire. Mile cut a small hole in the top of the shed for the smoke to get out. "That might not be the best idea," Brooke told him. "How so?" He asked. "Well, you're pretty much telling everything in the area, 'Hey, free food over here, come and get it!' You might as well be holding out a large neon sign with an air horn." She said, head held low. Miles put the fire out and unrolled the sleeping bags that Devin had recovered for them. Brooke didn't realize how much they relied on him until he was gone. She remembered one of the last things she had said to him before he was taken. 'Miles and I can get along just fine without you!' She felt bad for saying that. She cared for Devin, but she knew that Devin cared for her a lot more so. Later that night, Brooke pretended to be asleep until Miles feel asleep. When Miles was out, she got up and retrieved her weapons and some supplies. She stepped out of the tent, and said, "I'm coming to Devin, don't worry about a thing, because I'm coming." She left a note for Miles, saying that she had gone to look for Devin. She started off for the area where he was taken, where he saved her from that monster. She had to avoid detection a couple times, but that was the easy part. Seeing where she was going, that was the hard part. It was dawn when she got back to the spot where Devin had gone missing. She saw his sword and started to cry. Brooke picked it up and belted it on since she didn't have enough room in her pack. When she came to her senses, she threw a rope with a hook attached to it onto the roof. Devin had grabbed it, and she asked him why they would ever need that. Turns out he was right to grab it. She climbed to the top of the rope and collected it back again. She saw a small trace of blood, followed by the vile drool of the xenomorph. "It has to be him, I know it!" She told herself. She followed the trail of drool and blood to a nearby bridge. When she came up to a car that the drool had lead to, Brooke found the pendant she had given to Devin when they were in school together. A tear ran down her face, and she put on the pendant. "I swear Devin, if your dead, I will never forgive you!" She yelled into the air. She continued on until she came to a broken part of the bridge. "Oh no. I can never get a break." She said to herself. Brooke saw a beam stretching between the broken parts of the bridge. "Okay Brooke, you can do this. Don't be afraid." She stepped onto the beam and held out her arms to keep her balance. As she slowly made her way across, she could hear the beam creaking and moaning under her weight. She then heard a screech behind her. "Shit, This day just keeps getting better and better." She told herself. The monster appeared but hadn't seen her yet. She moved a bit faster across the beam, hoping the creature wouldn't notice her. She took a step, and the entire beam creaked, and the alien saw her moving across. "Crap!" She yelled. The xenomorph drone crept slowly toward her, as to not knock both of them off the thin platform. Brooke moved as fast as she could, and when she got to the other side, she tried desperately to knock the beam from the bridge. She got it free and started to fall, but the creature had jumped from the beam to the other side of the bridge. It was just hanging there, trying to pull itself up. She ran from the edge of the bridge, and as fast as she could from the creature. The alien pulled itself up from the ledge and chased its prey down. "I have to lose it, I can't let it catch me." She said. "I can't let him down, I can't die yet." She ran ass fast as she could. The xenomorph was right behind her, drooling and screeching. She ran and ran, as fast as she could, until she came to a small building. She didn't have time to check if anything was in the structure, so she kicked open the door, and hid under a nearby desk. The creature entered the building, and opened a locker, right across from Brooke. In her mind, she was thinking if she would die here, or if the monster would just leave. The xenomorph looked around for a little longer, and left the building, screeching as it ran away. Brooke took a sigh of relief and came out from under the desk. She went back outside to make sure the coast was clear. When she was that it was, Brooke set off to find the trail of drool and blood again. When she found it again, it started to rain. "Oh no, no no no!" She exclaimed. The drool and blood washed away with the rain, and she lost the trail. "How am I going to find him now?" Brooke held her head low and started to cry. She thought of the times her and Devin had at school and during the apocalypse. All the things he had taught her, all the things he had told her. "Who was the person that he lost." She started to remember that he had told her, of someone he had lost a while ago, named Katherine. "Who the hell is Katherine?" She asked herself. She brushed it off for the moment, to focus on looking for another way to find Devin. She figured it out. "Hey! You want me, come and get me!" She yelled. She was going to be captured by an alien, and if she was captured, she would probably be taken to the same nest as Devin. Right away, a xenomorph jumped out from behind a car, and grabed her by her shoulders. It breathed in her face, and she instantly passed out. When she woke, Brooke was pinned against a wall, in front of an egg. "I have to get out of here." She told herself. She then heard something come from one of the corridors of the nest. It was Devin.
