Millions of years ago when the earth was very young and was covered by the vast ocean, the only lone creature that came into existence was the shark for many years the shark wandered alone and then other creatures came about. Nature took its toll and land was formed on the surface of the ocean and many creatures crawled into it and became land dwellers. So now there were living things on land and sea and they all feared and worshipped the great shark god who had control over the land and the sea. As years rolled by humans came into existence they formed their own beliefs, these beliefs varried in different lands and soon the the shark god was forgotten.
Except for the Island of Mabatu, the only place in the entire world where the people observed great devotion to the shark god and considered him their protector. Once a great warrior who was also a king from a far away land heard about the strange ritual of the people of Mabatu. He placed on his best clothes and loaded his ship with the riches and fighters and sailed for many days towards his destination. When he came to the Island he showed great respect to the natives, the natives fell for his sweet talk and welcomed him and his companions at a great feast. The king had other plans laid out; his companions brought their weapons and surrounded the natives. The natives were confused as they did not make weapons and had never seen war; they were unaware of the treachery. More ship was seen on the ocean sailing towards the Island, in a blink of an eye a giant shark emerged and devoured the ships.
The king and his companions watched in horror from ashore. The native chief exclaimed that he had angered the shark god and he must leave at once. As soon as the king and the fighters went aboard the ship and waded out into the water the giant shark instantly devoured the ship. Many more tales are shared about the sharkgod.
Once upon a time there used to be another creature just as strong and powerful as the shark this creature was the octopus, it had tentacles which stretched out for miles and were extremely strong, it had also a very flexible body and was able to move very swiftly. The octopus considered himself worthy of worship and criticised the shark god when ever he had the chance. "The shark's body is so big and he is clumsy, he will surely lose in a fight with me", the octopus would retort.
The shark would not pay any attention to the octopus's saying, as days went by the octopus took advantage of the shark's silence and would say mean things about him. The whale that is the wise silent creature tried to knock some sense into the octopus and retorted that he must seek forgiveness from the sharkgod, this angered the octopus alot and he tried to strangle the whale, but the whale swam away very quickly. The shark became irritated by the octopus's misbehavior towards the whale and decided to confront him. "Why do you insult me, I consider you my friend and have never done, said or even thought any ill for you. Why do you hate me so much", the shark asked. "why am I insulting you?" do you really want to know?" the octopus retorted in an egoistic tone. "Because unlike the other coward creatures of the land and sea I do not fear you and neither do I consider you a god, you do not deserve to be worshipped the creatures must worship me as I am much more stronger and powerful than you", he spat.
The shark was angry but he spoke calmly, " I do not ask the creatures to worship me they do so out of their devotion and if you do not wish to worship then it is your opinion and that does not mean that you should insult me", he stated. The octopus kept arguing and hauled insults towards him, this deeply infuriated the shark and he attacked the octopus. They battled for days, at times the shark would catch the octopus's tentacles between its teeth but they would slip away.other creatures went into hiding as the giants body collided and formed massive waves. These waves destroyed life on land.
