CHAPTER 6
Meanwhile in the woods, there was one big tree. It glowed as if billions of Christmas lights were hanged on it.
"Eat this. It's the key to enter that tree." Carlo gave Eljin another mysterious type of substance. This time it was blue and squishy like blueberries.
"Together." Eljin said to make sure it was not poo or somethin'.
"Yeah.. whatever.. together." Carlo replied.
They faced each other and pretended to be Katniss and Peeta as they ate them. Their tummies rumbled and their eyes unwantedly closed for a few seconds.
"Now let's pass through this shield." Carlo uttered.
"Why did we eat the fruit if we could just enter directly?" another question buzzed Eljin.
"We shrinked. We can't get inside the tree if you're that fat." he discussed stupidly clutching Eljin's right arm. Eljin rolled her eyes.
The two entered inside the tree through small tube-like hole. The hole was small and eerie.
"Carlo! I can't stand it here! I'm claustrophobic!" Eljin screamed at Carlo, as she gripped hard on his hand as they both fly through the dusty dark tube.
Suddenly, an owl flew ahead of them. "Coooocooo! Cooocooo!" It repeatedly sang as it flapped its wings. Then it began to speak, "Interesting fact! Claustrophobia is an abnormal dread of being in closed or narrow spaces." Carlo and Eljin simply ignored the owl. It is obvious that it's Charles, their nerdy classmate.
The owl then flapped away and disappeared in the dark.
"Just... ugh... just keep calm. It's almost over." Carlo told Eljin.
Eljin flinched. "I think I'm gonnna puke."
"Here we are!" Carlo exclaimed as they got out the endlessly long tube.
Eljin turned red, rubbing her tummy with one hand while holding Carlo's hand in the other. "Oh no... there it goes."
And there's Eljin, puking all over Carlo's sparkly dress.
"What the heck Eljin!" Carlo cursed. "You're so gross!"
"I'm so sorry. I can't help it." Eljin apologized sincerely, feeling dizzy.
"Whatever. I'll take it off." Carlo pulled out his wand and waved it to her dress as he chanted a spell, "Sparkly pink dress is now gross, take this stinky solvent, off it goes."
In a flash, Carlo's dress was cleaned.
"That was... amazing." Eljin whispered in delight.
"Hold my hand." Carlo swinged.
"Ew." Eljin reacted.
"Come on!" he grabbed Eljin's hand and held it tight as they flew deep inside the tree, "Don't be Sharpay Evans!"
---
"Wow! This place is amazing! I thought you can't fly?" Eljin asked as they flew.
"Now I can! I'm a fairy! Duh." Carlo rolled his eyes.
Eljin looked confused.
It was truly a magical place. Eljin felt weird from the poo to the tree.
They were surrounded with puffy orange trees and purple grass with bright multi-colored flowers growing above it. The sky is red and the clouds were pink like cotton candy.
"Welcome to fairyrerocher!" A fairy greeted nearby.
There were also same kind of species as Carlo. Some fairies were orange, yellow, purple, black and red.
Sparkly.
As they reached the heart of the tree, a lot more fascinating fairy things surprised Eljin. It left her speechless.
"WOW! It's just--"
"Wonderful isn't it?" a purple slimy worm with a book under her nose showed up.
"Rose!" Carlo greeted.
"Halloooo!" The worm smiled widely.
"By the way, this is Eljin." He introduced.
"Is she your non-fairybuzz girlfriend they're talking about?" Rose whispered.
"Seriously?! NO!" Carlo strongly disagreed.
"Hi, Eljin! I'm Rose, short for Denrose. I'm the book worm of Fairyrerocher."
"What kind of books do you read?" Eljin asked.
"My favorite is Fairyclopedia. I also read Fairyam-Rocher's Dictionary. I mean.. I don't read it literally.. I just scan for some winged words so I could speak fairily knowing that I'm a worm." Rose fluently explained and adjusted her glasses to eye Eljin closely.
"You're really bookish! Do you read Wingpad stories?"
"OMG!! Yes! I so love the 'Diary of an Ugly' " she screamed in excitement.
"How about some flapfics?" Eljin inquired.
Carlo rolled his eyes and sighed, "Girl conversations."
"OMG!! Super yes! Especially Rocky Gills the famous fish." She screamed again.
"..and his partner Jellya Bars the sweetest creature on land." Eljin continued.
"OMG! Eljin!" Rose screamed again.
"I know right. I know a lot of famous fiction stuffs like Catering Berries, Dani Paddles, Jelly Mountains!"
"No. I mean, OMG! You have red spots all over your skin." Rose's eyes widened."I think it's from poison ivy. Carlo, where have you two been dating? Gah!"
"Dating? What!" Carlo outraged.
"Come over here, Eljin. Don't scratch them or you'll make it worse!"
Rose took Eljin to the clinic. It was full of white roses and a line of soft cotton bed. They left her but there was a fairy healer incharged inside who brought the potions to cure Eljin.
"Poison ivy, I see." the fairy dipped a piece of fabric in a bowl filled with mysterious liquid mixture.
She then topped the cloth on Eljin's arm first.
Eljin tried to sleep in harmony but she just can't close her eyes. As the fairy healer puts more of the potion to her body, Eljin noticed a tag on the left side of her chest.
"Hr. C. Gardenfield?" Eljin asked.
"Healer Calea Gardenfield to be exact." the fairy answered.
"Are you Carlo's mother?"
"I'm his cousin, silly. Most of our relatives are healers. Aunt Carla wasn't found anywhere after the curse."
As the conversation went on, Calea noticed a mark on Eljin Danford's shoulder. It was irregularly shaped but she still managed to identify it.
Calea gasped, "The mark!"
