Camila's POV
It was a treacherous time for the Cabello family. As soon as we heard the news, Giorgio, the kids and I jetted off to Milan as quick as possible.
At 88-years-old, Giorgio Cabello senior had unexpectedly passed away.
We were all sure that he was healthy enough to live for a little bit longer. Sure, he had been sick for a while but his death still came as an unfortunate shock. Especially to Giorgio II and my husband. They were extremely devastated and heartbroken as we all were.
Their sadness was clearly visible during the funeral in Milan. I held onto my husband in any way I could to console him when he cried throughout the hour long service. Even my kids shed some tears when they saw their great grandfather lying in the coffin.
What was left at the end of the day was Giorgio Cabello's legacy that his son and grandson promised to carry on. They were more committed than ever to make the company the biggest and best it could be. And with the amount of money that the two of them received from their senior's will, I was sure they could do wonders all over the world.
"A whole eight and a half billion dollars," my husband couldn't stop looking at the documents of his grandfather's will. As his father was the executor, Giorgio the first wished to split his money evenly only among his son and my husband. Half and half of $17 billion which was $8.5 billion each. This added to our own worth of about $3 billion, adding up to a grand total of $11.5 billion.
I actually had $11.5 billion dollars. Oh my god. I was even richer than the United States president! Suck on that, Trump!
Giorgio Cabello was a company worth just over $40 billion as it was in the top five global luxury businesses. So, the amount of money that the founder owned wasn't a huge surprise. On top of that, the company had recently opened almost ten more hotels in major cities such as London, Paris, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Florence and New York. They were popping up everywhere and soon enough, I bet every single city was going to have a Cabello hotel. We weren't just a fashion brand anymore, we were a worldwide enterprise that was only going to make us ridiculously richer every year.
At this rate, I could probably buy the whole damn music industry. But my heart didn't fully belong to music as much as people believed it did. Fashion was the real passion of mine and I wasn't going to give that up. In fact, I was on my way to proposing new ideas for the company and building up my own projects.
"Think about this, Gio..." I began, causing my husband to look up from his magazine as we were sat by our pool where the kids played. "We open a new brand under my name but also collab with Guess jeans," I smirked.
"Collaborate with Marciano?" he lowered his shades.
"Yeah, why not? We're friends," I smiled. Paul and I went way back and Giorgio knew that.
He scrunched his nose while thinking it over but grew soft. "Have you talk about this with him?"
"We've talked about working together but haven't decided what we want to do exactly. But don't worry, I can handle it myself," I nodded confidently.
"You sure?"
"Gio, I've been watching you create brands from the ground up for the past decade," I sighed. "I think I can manage. And with Paul, I know we can create something amazing. Trust me."
"I mean, that does sound like a good idea," he shrugged.
"Really?" my eyes now widened.
"Of course. And you deserve it, babe. I've taken a look at your designs and was quite impressed," he winked, causing my heart to jump that he took the time to care about my work. He really cared now.
