Jamie pulls my window open again, making his way on to my roof. "What are you doing?" I ask.
He looks around at the sky, "I'm seeing if Jack is around, he might have something that can help us."
A few blocks over I see Jack fly over to my roof, "Didn't expect to see you here Jamie." Jack says bluntly.
Jamie rolls his eyes, "Yeah well, for once I need your expertise in mischief."
Jack's eyes light up, "Is that so? Well, if the boy who believed needs me then I am at your service good sir." He follows his sarcastic statement with an exaggerated bow. "Why the sudden change of heart, Bennett?" Jack laughs.
The human boy folds his arms in annoyance, "It's not for me it's for Sunni," He points to me, still standing in my room.
My eyes meet with the winter spirit's, "Ah, so we meet again new girl." Jack smirks.
I offer a small wave in response, "Wait, you two have already met?" Jamie asks, "You can see him?" He points at Jack.
I furrow my brows in confusion, "Yeah we met the same day I met you guys, didn't he tell you?"
Jamie lets out a sigh looking at Jack, "No, he left out that part."
Jack leans on his staff, "Aw, what's wrong Jamie? You mad that we don't share our deepest darkest secrets anymore?"
Angry tension grows in the air as I stand there awkwardly, "Is there something going on between you two? I thought you guys were friends."
"Yeah well things change sometimes," Jamie sighs.
"More specifically people change," Jack adds looking at Jamie.
I roll my eyes at their pettiness, "Alright that's enough you two. Jack, Jamie says you have something that could help me out."
He raises an eyebrow, "Do I now? And what would that be Bennett?"
Jamie huffs, "Do you still have some of Sandy's dream sand?"
The white haired boy smirks, "Of corse I do, why?"
"We need it so we can put Sunni's mom to sleep long enough to get out of the house for a while."
"Now that's a plan I can get behind, Golden Boy!" The winter spirit reaches into his pocket, and pulls out a small vial with glowing sand in it. I peer into the glass container watching the golden sand dance inside it.
"So this sand can really make who ever it hits to fall asleep?" I ask.
"I haven't found anyone it doesn't affect yet," Jack explains. He raises his hand and forms a snowball, "Might as well have a little fun while we're at it." He smirks.
Jamie hits the ball of ice out of Jack's hand, "No, we are not going to hit her Mom with one of your snowballs."
I look at him confused, "Why not?"
"Jack's snowballs are a little more, interesting now a days." Jamie sighs.
Jack rolls his eyes, "Don't be such a stick in the mud, it's not like it will kill her. Besides from the way Sunni talks about her I'm sure she wouldn't mind getting a little revenge."
I let the thought cross my mind, imagining the look on her face just before hitting the ground cold. I admit to myself that it would be pretty satisfying to see that as a small smile makes its way on my face.
"There's no way she'd be okay with that, unlike you Jack, Sunni is a good person." Jamie defends.
I'm startled by Jamie's words making my small smile fade, "Whatever you say Bennett." Jack replies nonchalantly.
