In all honestly, it was a unique job.  Usually, Ozpin would give me a job or bounty that was straight-forward, such as kill this crime lord or interrogate a suspicious hunter out of Vale.  In this case, I had to find out how to find him, and bring him out in the open.  The jobs just kept getting worse, I figured.  Though, if he was right, this Geist person is trying to kill one of the huntresses attending Beacon, nevermind her.
I clenched my pack of smokes, pulling out a small cigarette as I flicked my lighter, just trying to get a light.  After a minute of failing, I grunted in frustration, stuffing the lighter back in my pocket, before taking out a box of matches.  Thank fuck for that.
I puffed out a cloud of smoke, before leaving the school grounds, the rain finally starting to settle in.  I covered myself with my hood, moving my kevlar so that it wouldn't chafe much on my body from the damn rain.  At least I looked good in the rain.
There was this guy in the lower city who was always good at keeping me informed on where all the damn scum in the most nasty parts of Vale are.  At a distance, he looks like nothing more than a poor weasel, (and in many ways, he actually was) though he was able to worm information through all the poor old saps who comes his way, and for a good price, he could provide you with enough dirt to ruin a civilization.  So, he was my inside man, in a place where I thought I could call home.
I walked into the bar, noticing that it wasn't really as busy as i thought it was on a normal night.  It sucked, sometimes there were some nice eye candy in here, though, I'll admit, they weren't her..
I sat at the bar stools, waiting for Junior to at least show up for once to hand me my drink, as I began to delve back into nice, bittersweet memories.
I had met her back in Menagerie, when I was nothing more than a small child, who didn't even have a care for the world and its wonders.  She had that nice, warming smile which was just so contagious that I seemed to always break out in a blush.  Her bright, yellow eyes seemed to gleam with a constant wonder of the world, which would always be so determined to help those in need.  Her raven black hair flowed beside her cute, small feline ears, which were so incredibly soft the one time I touched them.  She was everything that was innocent and deserving in this world.
Which is why I can't let this, vagabond take her away.  If this man would kill her and rip her from this world, I wouldn't be so sure I could properly cope with it, even if I never had the balls to ask her out.  One day, though.
Junior walked to the bar, and raised his brow at my presence.  He was cleaning up some dirty glasses with this small cloth, before he raised a finger in acknowledgement.
"Hey there, kid."
"Hi, Junior.  The usual, please."  He nodded in response, and went to grab a big flask of Fireball whiskey, my personal favorite.  He got out a small glass cup, and poured the whiskey into the glass, before I quickly took it and began to chug.
"Save me time.  Why are you here?"  He asked, gruffly putting down his cloth.
"Drowning some shit out, is that alright?"  I stared at him for a moment, before he broke eye contact and began to clean the stand.
"I have no problem with it, but you usually ask for information, or something of the sort."  I continued to chug down the glass.  I looked up at Junior, brow cocked up.
"Junior, I do in fact have a question."  He raised his chin up at this, at the possibility of extra payment.
"Do you perhaps, know of a fellow known as Geist Resiende?"  At this he promptly frowned, and he scrunched his brow for a long minute before answering.
"What's it to you, Wilde?"
"For a little project I'm doing; nothing important really.  Heard the name around, and I thought you might know him."  He frowned and shook his head, not really believing my story, though he sighed in acceptance.
"Hmph.  Never heard of the name before.  What's the real reason you're looking for the man?"  I scoffed, though i decided to spill it to him.
"It's for a mission, gotta end his time a little short."  I smirked and made a cutthroat motion with my finger.  "Also, he may also be hunting my... lover, if one could call it that."  If he had cared, it wouldn't be evident, though I could've sworn he glared at me aggressively for a quick second.  I grunted in response.
"So you don't know him at all?  This is an important task, Junior."
"And I don't necessarily care too much.  No, I don't know Geist, nor why he would be hunting your Faunus friend."  At this, I chuckled knowingly.
"Funny, you mention him by his first name.  Leads me to believe you're not really telling the whole truth."  He shut up for a second, looking only a shade alarmed, though he jabbed back.
"So I can't call a guy by his first name?  What's the big deal?"  I smirked and looked at him.
"Oh, nothing, nothing.  I just mentioned it sounded a bit odd."  I counted on him acting even more defensive, and maybe just once, slipping up.
"There's nothing odd about it."
"Ugh, it seems I've touched a nerve there, sorry Junior."  I took a big swig of my drink.  "So this Geist guy, he your boyfriend, or something?"
"No.  I've heard him around, from a while back.  He immigrated here a few months ago, but it's likely you've already heard about that."
"Ah, so you do know about him.  That's strike one."  I laughed, while he scoffed in pure irritation.
"No, I just heard about him from all the commotion.  Local criminals and White Fang like to talk about him at times."  I only nodded in fake compliance, as I gave him my empty glass in exchange for a new one.
"Alright, alright.  I'm just trying to get some information.  If you find anything, just let you know."
"I'm going to warn you now, Jaeger:  Hunting this guy will put some strain on you.  He isn't that big a fan of attention."
"Yea, and I'm not a fan of the one I love getting her throat slit."  I spat roughly, my face contorting to an expression of disgust, at the thought.
"Well, we all deal with shitty things in life, and sometimes we just have to deal with them."
"Fuck you, Junior.  Don't you dare talk about her.  I did nothing to you."  I growled at him, while he slammed the table, growing furious at the moment.
"Well stop talking about him!"
"Fine, Junior, God, just, fuck off."  I decided to scram, not even paying the bastard.  I knew the bitch was hiding something, whether he knew him or knew of him or whatever.  He just wouldn't tell me for the life of him.
Storming off, I decided it would be best if I went back to Beacon, to perhaps recover and recoup, before I went back in a blazing fury, wrecking shit all over till he decides to fucking spill it.  I quickly paced with my smokes and my flask in hand, before I came across the main courtyard to the school.  In the front was the big old statue, with two hunters triumphing over a bunch of Grimm corpses in an epic battle.  In front of it, was Ozpin, just sipping his hot cocoa.  He turned around and smiled faintly.
"Ah, Jaeger.  Back so soon, I see."
"Eh, yea Oz.  Tried to get info, though asshole Junior wouldn't give it up."  He nodded in understanding, taking another sip of his drink.
"Told you that one of these days, your sources of information would fail you."  I rolled my eyes.
"Save it, Oz.  I'm not in the happiest of moods right now.  I'll be in my dorm, if you need me."  I grunted, before he put one hand on my shoulder.
"You shouldn't rely too much on your emotions, Jaeger.  You should take a step back sometimes, and breathe."
"Yea, I'll breathe in my door, so how about it?"  I huffed, though he shook his head.
"If you're having trouble hunting him down, maybe you should lay out some bait while you go in and search for him yourself?  Like hunting a Grimm."  He tried to explain, and I nodded.
"It may be a good way to look at it, Oz."  I smiled, before shrugging his hand off my shoulder, and going back to my room to plan out my next move.
