Just a oneshot written in Meredith's POV that I thought would be fun to post since I've been so bad at posting lately :)

6:16 am, Monday

It was a Monday morning in Seattle Grace hospital, the air was thick with moisture from the nights rain, and the interns locker room was weighted down with the smell of rich coffee, undoubtedly from the coffee cart in the lobby, and freshly sanitized scrubs. It was dead quiet, save for the constant yawning and crinkling of last-minute breakfast burritos being devoured before rounds.

Interns didn't have the weekends off, in fact, weekends meant more work as most of the attendings took weekends off for golf, for family, and for rest. So Meredith Grey watched silently as each of her friends, worked to the bone and tired as could be, pulled their scrubs over their heads in a way that almost felt like second nature.

Like zombies, the interns made their way to their residents, ready to be assigned an attending surgeon to spend the day shadowing.

"Stevens is with Shepherd, O'Malley is with me, Karev is in the pit, Yang is with Burke, Grey you're with Montgomery. Any issues? No? I didn't think so" the loud, cutting voice of Miranda Bailey was almost more than Meredith's exhausted ears could handle; with a nod she was off, the group disassembled and headed off to their respective posts, only to undoubtedly  meet up again for lunch to discuss the days endeavours.

"Grey, Bailey told me you're with me this morning" Addison Montgomery was in a good mood this morning, Meredith could tell. Instead of her normal snappy tones and harsh glares, she greeted Meredith with a smile and a warm voice. Since her divorce, she'd been nothing but nasty. Today though, seemed to be a good day.

"I'm all yours" Meredith replied politely, studying Addison in a way that she couldn't understand. There was something different about the redhead this morning, something happier, chipper almost. It were as if Addison Montgomery went from being sour, bitter and mean to being to being someone who was suddenly a genuinely happy person.

Meredith wondered silently what Dr. Montgomery spent her weekend doing that made her so easy to get along with, and hoped just to herself that whatever it was, she kept doing it.

9:32 am, Monday

With rounds out of the way, and patient prep for surgery following not long after, Meredith decided to go to the cafeteria for more coffee and a gossip session with Cristina.

"The aliens have landed and they've stolen Montgomery" Meredith declared, sitting down with her coffee and a donut next to Cristina.

"What happened?" Cristina asked, one perfect eyebrow arched in question.

"She's been being nice to me all morning. She's being nice to everyone. It's weird, she hasn't snapped or glared or anything" Meredith said, concerned. She had no idea what was happening or why.

"Maybe she's just glad to finally be single again" Cristina shrugged "Meredith, she's an attractive woman. She'll have guys lined up to date her"

Meredith frowned and crinkled her nose "You think she's attractive?"

"You don't?" Cristina shot back with an obvious 'duh' tone in her voice.

Meredith shrugged and sipped her coffee. "I've never really looked"

"Well maybe you should"

"Maybe I will"

2:41 pm, Monday

And boy, did she look.
