How do you know you are happy if you have never been sad in the first place?
You see, misery is an important part of this crappy life. And maybe you'll tell me I'm stupid, but just think about this.
Teardrops falling off your cheeks when you felt for the very first time how desperate you are to escape from the 'lonely' state of mind.
Pictures of the most important person for you kept safe in the secret pocket of your purse only to remind you how much you miss them everyday.
The desperate attempt to forget the loving memory of someone who one day laughed vividly with you when you felt the heaven in the middle of this hell.
You know it will change you.
You know this is a part of life.
And, most important, you know this will be stuck with you forever, not because it made you feel the pain, but because it made you understand you are able to heal.
You see, there's beauty in sadness. For me, beauty means to accept imperfection, because our imperfections define us. Because you can't see how amazingly strong you are till you rise up from the ashes of broken dreams and hopeless thoughts and embrace the the blinding image of better.
Of course, every wound will leave its trace. Its scar. But you should know that your scars are proving that you weren't afraid to fight your own battles.
And, honestly, who told you that you can't define your own kind of beauty?
