Kindergarten

"bye mommy!" Little Liza screamed as she headed out the door to the bus for her first day of kindergarten

"bye Elizabeth!" And with that Liza hopped on the bus, taking her seats next to her bestie, Gabbie.

"Gabs!"

"Liza!"

"I missed you so much!"

"Me too! Wait we were together yesterday"

"Oh!" They both laugh hysterically

They both run around when they are dismissed by Mr. Nash and make new friends

"My name is Elizabeth but my friends call me Liza! Let's be friends!" And that's what Liza said as most introductions.

"My name is carly!"

"Your parents let you die your hair?" All of the kids were shocked, but loved the vibrant pink and red shade of her hair

"I'm Erin and I'm Carly's best friend!" Carly nods

"I'm Corinna!"

"My name is Zane!" Most of their new friends thought "boys had cooties" but Liza and Gabbie both disagreed, Liza even thought maybe she had a crush on him!

Heath, Toddy, Scotty, Kristen and Alex all introduced themselves but Liza broke away from the group, seeing a boy in all black with brown hair crying.

She walked over to the corner where he was and sat down next to him.

"Why are you crying?"

"Because no one wants to play with me" she wipes a tear that rolls down his adorable face.

"My name is Liza! I'll play with you! We can be friends"

"Really? I'm David" The boy starts to smile

Liza smiles at his smile "yeah! Let's go play on the swings!"

The both stand "race ya!"

Liza wins and gets on a swing "push me!"

And so he pushes her as she squeals in excitement as she goes higher and higher each push, until she falls off.. backwards... onto David.

They both giggle as they lay on the ground, neither of them being really hurt as Liza is super tiny and David cushioned her fall

"Can we be best friends?" He nods under her

"Forever?"

"Forever."

6 years later (6th grade)
~

Liza feels the wall and her head collide as she's shoved into it.

"You're so gross"

"No one likes you"

She pulls her hair

And then she leaves

And liza's left. Behind the building leading to the field

Alone.

Well, until David shows up.

She's sitting on the ground and he sits next to her and hugs her

He pulls away and wipes away a tear that started to roll down her cheek "I heard, I came as fast as I could but I was too late"
