Jennifer's pov
My grin is still intact, as we enter Ryan's penthouse. The interior of the house oozes wealth. Its huge, spacious and beautiful. He pulls me to the leather couches located in the middle of the living room. when I sit down he goes to fetch something to drink. I spend the time looking around. I have seen quite a few houses belonging to my father's rich friend circle but this is....this is something else entirely.
He comes back with two glasses of orange juice and hands me one. He sits beside me facing me.
"this house is nothing like I have ever seen" I tell him truthfully.
"when you have more money than required you do such things. This house is big but lonely. You know money can't buy companionship or, more clichéd line, happiness"
He seems to be in a reflective mood.
"you know I searched you over the net and I realised one thing. You are never seen with other women" I study him carefully.
"maybe I was waiting for you" that is an evasive answer, I can tell but I don't press on it.
"so no girlfriends, no crushes, no dates?"
"none. You are the one and only of my life"
He says it in such a manner that has my heart beating erratically.
"but I can't say the same about you" I want us to be clear on this. I have had relationships in the past.
"I know" he is angry. " I intend to make myself your last" he states. Even though he is being possessive but I don't feel scared.
"we will see" I say haughtily just to tease him. He looks hot when he is angry. He watches me like a hawk and I burst out laughing. He shakes his head once he realises that I am teasing him.
"I thought we came here to watch movie" I speak and he gets up then forwards his hand for me to take it. I do and he pulls me up with a jerk. He presses me to the whole length of his body and I am aware of the bulge in his pants. "I want you to give me a chance" he whispers in a husky voice. His eyes, intense and determined, focussed on me. I give him an imperceptible nod and he kisses me chastely "good. Now let's go and watch that movie" he says and pulls me to the TV room.
.......
A week passed since Ryan's confession of wanting a chance. So this entire week had been different. I can now surely say, that we are dating. He seeks me out during lunch. He drops me home in my car. Sometimes I have chocolate waiting for me at my desk in the morning. We have had quite a few heated make out sessions as well.
"hey" he greets me with a kiss at the end of the day as we sit in my car.
"Hey to you too, Mr. Reese" I reply playfully.
"I have to ask you something" he began and I gave him my full attention "actually we have this family ritual going on since ages, to dine together on Friday every week. So I was wondering if you would like to accompany me tomorrow"
Meeting the family? Isn't this too soon?
"Ryan I don't think this is a good idea. We don't know each other for that long to do this kind of thing" I tell him the truth. I am not one for sugar coating my words. I see the slight hurt in his look but he recovers eventually.
"okay if you say so" then he drops me off at my house. Before leaving he says "okay then I will see you on Monday"
"Monday??" its my instant reaction, I have become used to his presence so much. He smiles pleased by my reaction.
