The view was not much but acres of trees and the sky. It was better than my view in the city where you could see the street and the house across the street. The fall season made the trees look each uniquely different. Some trees were the color of blood red and others a orange tang. It was breath taking compared to a brick home with three windows and a gnome standing guard at the front door.
I look back at Leslie and watch as she puts her paper work away in a folder. She glanced at me and I smile awkwardly. "You always stare at me."
I kick myself mentally in the ass and pull out a piece of paper. I wrote, You catch me at the wrong time.
I hand her the paper and she lets out a dry laugh, "ha ha. I guess that is the case."
I never actually stare but I admire from a far. Leslie gets up from her chair and places the note on top of a shelf. "So... What are we doing today?"
I look back out her window and scoot over patting a place next to me. I glance back at Leslie who is hesitant about it. "You are not gonna push me off?"
I roll my eyes and shake my head. Only if she knew I liked her way too much to hurt her. Leslie makes her way to me and climbs over and sits facing the woods. The music was quiet and I could start to hear small crickets chirpping.
I took out my clipboard and dry erase marker and wrote, Why is it so bad to be friends with me?
"I... What could we possibly have in common besides art and government." She says and I think a little on that.
I like anime. Pizza. Hanging out. Video games. Photography.
"Okay. So, friend... What can we possibly do that doesn't have to involve talking." She teases and looks down at the board.
I erase everything and look at her as she anticipated me to write. She looks up through her hair and smiles. "See I caught you staring."
I didn't think before I moved in and landed a kiss on her lips. She tenses up and I am pushed away. "What the hell, Michael!"
I am frozen and I could see she was beyond pissed. I stand up and before she could say anything I am out the door. I hear her yell after me but I knew everything was messed up now.
I texted Harry to meet me at the end of the road. I texted him a code black which meant it was urgent he be here. I look back and see Leslie's house immediately pick up the pace to watch it fade out of sight.

I'm trying to pick up the pace of this book. :)
