Chapter 20 - This is How a Heart can Break

Chapter 20

"Everyday is the WORST day ever!!" I sanged at the top of my lungs. Then I got up on my feet and started jumping with no reason at all. Mom and Dad wasn't home if you were thinking why I'm doing this.

The music was bursting through my ears as I jumped. I don't know why but I felt the burden lifting away from me. As SimplePlan keeps playing on my laptop, I suddenly got the urge to call someone. So I dialed the obvious number of my choice.

"Hello?" Andrea answered.

"Hey." I smiled. "It's me." 

"Hey Matt." I could sense that she's smiling over the phone. "On your way home, Have you seen Greyson?" 

I got this puzzled look in my face then turned and stopped the music from playing. This has got to be the weirdest thing I'd ever heard.

"Uh...no." I looked at the window then sat on the edge of my bed. "Why?" 

"It's dark out and I'm getting worried." Andrea' s voice became tense. I think...just a guess... that she's shaking. "Do you think something bad happen to him?" 

"No. I think not." I sighed. "He's with Nikki." That lucky bastard, I thought. "Don't worry about them. They'll be fine." 

"You think so?"  Andrea stopped shaking.

"Absolutely." I smiled. "Anyway, there's this place that I really want you to se-"

Then my door shot wide open and there appeared a red-eyes Nikki. Her sobs spread the room and maybe... just maybe.. in the house. I just bit my lip then gripped the phone tighter.

"Matt? I heard someone crying. Is everything all right?" Andrea, after hearing the sobs became very alert. Still the same girl I knew.

"No. I guess not." I sighed then stood up and walked towards Nikki, hurriedly. "Listen, I gotta go. But I'll call you later."

"Yeah. Sure thing." Then she hung up.

I literally threw my phone on my bed and sat beside Nikki, who was still crying her eyes out. I looked at her with great pity and care. I don't know why she's crying but I think I gotta feeling who's behind this.

I opened my arms for invitation which she ran into and cried at my chest. This time it's so loud that I have to close the door with my foot. I closed my arms, welcoming her and comforting her the way  a good friend will do. 

Or at least I do.

"Hey." I whispered. "Relax." 

"How can I relax if the guy that I liked just turn me down?!" Nikki snapped. I kinda backed away a bit but she was still clutching at my arms tightly , which I'm pretty happy about though.
