It was my very first day in Kolkata. My aunt was the sweetest lady I had ever met after my mother. She took care of me as if I were a baby. She knew my interests, my hobbies, n my dislikes along with my limitations n internal sorrow.
We used to wake up early in the morning n go for a long morning walk followed by the breakfast. Everything was going well. The only people I missed were Ryan and Ron. It wasn't possible for Ryan to come to Mumbai.
"Oh! I wish Ron was here." I murmured.
"Who's Ron Rachael?" Said my aunt suspiciously.
"He's my first friend in Kolkata" I said.
"Ohk. Sit down, have ur breakfast n tell me something about him. Where did u guys first meet?" She added.
"During my journey to Kolkata" I replied taking a seat on the chair of the dining table.
"It's good that you are making friends... But remember it's Kolkata -people are ready to reach any heights for success."She warned.
"Oh ya! I trust him. From succes something just struck my mind.... From when am I going to join my new college?" I said turning the conversation into a different direction.
"From when do u wish to? The semister has already begun here." She answered spreading butter on the toast.
"Oh ok! I'll join from next week." I said.
"Fine dear" she said with a beautiful smile of her shimmering countenance serving me a slice of bread.
She was such a sweet lady. By simply looking at her, no one could make out her pains. She used to stay happy ,if not for herself then for the happiness of others. After her husband's death, she started working in a private company and was connected with many NGOs, helping the poor.
She inspired me so much, I nearly got off my pains n started enjoying. After we had had our breakfast we again went out for a long drive down the street in the elated weather. It was all so enthral.
"It isn't as tough as I thought I would find living in Kolkata. Is it?" I said happily.
"Oh dear! Just a day has passed." She said grinning slightly.
"What do you mean?" I said
"Oh nothing Rachael. Just enjoy the soothing weather." She said happily.
"Oh aunt! You scare me at times." I said laughing.
"That's important too." She said winking.
"Oh ya... It possibly is" I said in a bit confusion.
While my aunt was driving down the road I could feel the presence of some known person around us. Then I figured someone walking on the pavement, using his mobile phone.
"Is that Ron? No it can't be... Probably I am just missing him too much" I thought to myself.
As the person came closer I started feeling as if it's Ron.
"Oh yes! He is! Aunt stop the car! Now!" I exclaimed.
"Wh... What happened?" She said stopping the car.
"I just saw Ron. Can I meet him?!" I said excitedly.
"Yah sure dear. May I accompany you?" She said in a calm manner.
"Yah! Sure!" I said literally jumping as if I had seen a celeb.
I turned back to go towards him but he had disappeared till then. I searched for him for a while n then lost hope.
"I'm sure it was him"I said in a fainting manner.
"It's ok. Kolkata's not a that huge city... Probably you would have seen him" She said cheering me up.
I agreed n we went back to home. I started packing all my stuff for college n just expected someone really special for me would meet me there.
