-NAMJOON'S POV-
I start the car and we make our way home. The car is less quiet than it was on the way to the store, but nothing bad has happened yet, so I leave the boys to talk amongst themselves.
"Hey Dad?" I hear Hobi from the back of the car. I look at him through the mirror.
"Yeah?"
"You know how Yoongi likes those try not to laugh challenges?"
"Sure?"
"What if we made him one in real life!?"
"Hobi, that sounds interesting, but can you please explain a little bit more? I'm too old to know what those are."
"Well, everyone would have a turn to try and make Yoongi laugh! It seems like fun...and harmless...and I'm pretty sure it won't take too long..."
"Well, I guess. But you have to ask Eomma when you get home to make sure he's fine with it, okay?"
"Okay."
We finally arrive home. I help the kids out of the car and we walk in with our bags of presents. We enter through the kitchen's back door and I see the cake Jin had worked so hard on. It looks delicious. I'm so lucky I married such a good cook. I let the boys go to do their own things before Yoongi finally wakes up. I walk into the living room and Hobi follows suit, probably to ask his Eomma about that laugh challenge idea. I set myself the task of wrapping the boy's presents. I'd love it if they wanted to do this with me, but between managing all four of them with the added challenge of using scissors and tape, I think it's best to do it myself this time.
I'm almost done wrapping everything when Hobi comes into the dining room, where paper scraps, tape rolls, and a pair of scissors lay next to some moderately wrapped packages on our table.
"Dad says we can do it!"
I look up from my work. "That's good. Do you want any help?"
"No, I think I'm fine, thanks."
I smile. Hobi's growing up so fast. All the boys are. It feels like Jungkook could leave for college any day.
I'm sort of getting ahead of myself, aren't I?
"Let me or Dad know if you change your mind."
"I will!"
And with that, Hobi walks back into the living room.
I continue my work.
I finish wrapping (finally,) and clean up the dining room table. As if almost like magic, the table is clean as soon as Yoongi walks down the stairs. Everyone is still in the living room, and I can hear them all wishing a happy birthday to Yoongi. I take the presents from the boys in my hands and walk into the conversation.
"Happy birthday, Yoongi."
"Thanks Dad."
"These are from your brothers, but don't open them yet." I motion to his presents, which I placed on the coffee table. Taehyung is standing by them, nudging one off his smiley face. I laugh to myself. I keep looking at him and he soon realises that I'm watching him, and he folds his hands behind his back, looking off to the staircase. I laugh some more.
Jin calls everyone into the kitchen for breakfast, which is more like lunch at this point, but no one had any objections.
As usual, Jin made his famous blueberry pancakes. Jin has put so much effort into making today a perfect day. I've got to talk to him about taking more time to relax and more time for himself. He's going to drain all of his energy!
