-JINS POV-

I walk over to where Taehyung is standing in front of the garden stores window.

What did you find?

A new pet!

Excuse me, but what do you mean?

I found a pet, Eomma!

You did?

Taehyung points to a big Peperomia plant in the window.

You want a plant? I think to myself. Out of all the pets you could pick from, you want a houseplant? Houseplants arent even pets! Well, I guess it wont need much tending to. But how would you play with it? I guess if he really wants this as a pet, he can have it. I still dont know why, but I guess it would make him very happy, considering the way hes been acting about it.

Can I get it, Eomma?

I pause for a moment. A seemingly long moment, mind you.

Sure.

Really?!

If you take care of it and are responsible for it, you can have the plant.

Youre the best Daddy ever! Tae runs to me, hugging my legs while I happily laugh.

Lets go buy your new pet.

Yay!

We walk into the store and Taehyung starts explaining everything to the woman behind the counter. She looks amused but at the same time shoots me a look as if were all crazy. After Taehyungs explanation, I hand her my credit card and she rings up the plant. Tae waits for this to finish and then happily grabs the plant off the counter. We eventually leave and get our free chocolate samples, and then quickly make it to the car.

Tae buckles his plant in the backseat of the family minivan and grabs our beach blanket from the adjoining trunk, tucking the pot in as everyone else settles in.

What are you going to name your plant, sweetie? I ask, looking at Taehyung from the rearview mirror.

Im gonna name him Planty.

Oh my.

Just go with it, Jin. Its probably another phase.

Thats an interesting name, Tae.

I like it! Jimin says.

Taehyung smiles harder.

We arrive home after Namjoon and the other boys do. Its too late to make anything so I order a pizza and we all talk about what happened during the day.

I cant believe Namjoon slept on a bench!

After everyone explains what happened to themselves today, Taehyung tells us he has an announcement to make and he wants to show everyone his new pet. Everyone who hasnt seen the new pet looks excited. I know Hobis been wanting a dog for awhile now, but weve never had the time to go and adopt one.

Taehyung goes into the living room and grabs Planty. He tells everyone to close their eyes until he tells them hes ready.

Ready!

Everyone opens their eyes to find Tae holding his new pet, Planty the plant.
