A cold breeze blew through the dark forest, rustling the leaves on the ground as it went.

A girl jerked awake, gasping for air as if her lungs had been deprived of it for years. Her face was covered in dirt, her hair tangled and her clothes ripped. Around her, several kids about the same age were looking around in confusion as they pushed themselves up from the dirt. Several others lay unmoving on the cold ground.

The small group of teenagers had been lying against the stump of an old tree. In front of them stood a teenage boy with a large syringe in his hand and a smirk on his face. Beside him, a pretty redhead lay on the ground, her mouth slightly ajar and her eyes glazed over as she stared at nothing.

The girl stumbled to her feet, glancing around fearfully at the other teenagers beside her. Her instincts told her to run, run as fast as she could and get far away from this place.

She bolted, rushing past the others and heading towards the dark woods. She didn't make it far before a hand shot out, grabbing her upper arm and roughly pulling her back. The boy with the syringe had barely moved and looked perfectly calm as the young girl struggled against him. Panicking, she lashed out at him, gashing his arm as she tried to get free.

The boy looked annoyed, throwing her to the ground as she kept trying to escape. She tried to get up but he held her down, straddling her and pinning her arms by her head. She struggled but the boy was too strong.

"Tessa!" he shouted.

She stopped struggling, blinking up at him with wide, frightened eyes, like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car.

"What...what's happening?" one of the other girls stammered.

"Who are you?" another one asked.

The boy glanced up at them, smirking. "I'm your alpha. And all of you," he stood up, gripping the girl's wrist and pulling her to her feet. "All of you belong to me."

He turned, dropping his grip on the girl's arm as he began walking. She stood there in shock for a moment before following him, some instinct telling her that this was what she had to do. The others followed behind them as they trudged after the boy through the dark woods.
