Liam, Scott, Lydia and Tessa rushed into the dark tunnels.

"Scott?" Liam hissed. "You hear that?"

The sound of electricity crackled through the damp air.

"I heard that," Lydia whispered.

"Lydia, save your voice," Scott told her.

Tessa looked down, realizing that all of them were standing in an inch deep puddle of water.

"Hey," Liam breathed out, realizing the same thing. "Lydia, get out of the water!"

He shoved Lydia towards the wall as electricity crackled through the water around them. Tessa fell to the ground with Scott and Liam, screaming as the electric current coursed through her body.

The electricity stopped and Tessa heard a familiar voice.

"Sorry, Lydia."

Scott lunged forward as Tessa tried to catch her breath. She managed lift her head, seeing Theo crouching over Scott as he held onto Lydia who had fallen down a hole.

Theo dug his claws into Scott's back as Liam and Tessa tried to crawl towards them. Tessa's body was still shaking, she could barely get one limb to move at a time and Theo and Scott were agonizingly far away.

"Feel that, Scott?" Theo asked. "Kanima venom."

"No," Tessa whispered as she realized what was going to happen.

Scott wouldn't be able to hold onto Lydia for much longer.

"Just let it happen. Let it go," Theo whispered. "Let everything go."

"No!" Scott yelled as his grip finally gave out.

Lydia fell, screaming.

Theo stood up, grinning triumphantly. But something faltered in his eyes as he looked to where Liam and Tessa lay, struggling on the ground.

The sound of the Beast's roar echoed through the hollow tunnels and Theo grinned once again. "You hear that?"

"No, Theo, we fucking missed it," Tessa hissed angrily.

Theo chuckled. "That's the sound of real power." He strode off towards the sound of the Beast and Tessa fought back the urge to call after him.

If he wanted to be an idiot and get himself killed than that was none of her business. In fact, it would probably be a huge favor to all of Beacon Hills.

Theo disappeared from sight and Scott began to slowly get to his feet. Tessa managed to push herself off the ground as Liam did the same. Once they were all standing, Deucalion rounded the corner, standing beside Scott. He exchanged a cordial nod with Tessa. The two had a mutual respect for each other now that they knew where they stood among Scott's pack.

Scott nodded at the rest of them and they started towards the sound of Theo's yells. They rounded the corner to see him lying on the ground bleeding.

He glared at Deucalion as the man crouched in front of him. "You lied to me." He managed to turn himself to face them. "You and Scott."

"That's right, Theo," Deucalion took off his glasses. "The whole time." He closed his eyes, opening them again to show perfectly healthy, functioning, seeing eyes.

Theo scowled in anger. "It would've never worked," he realized.

"It could've worked," Deucalion corrected. "With Belasko's talons."

Realization dawned on Theo's face and Deucalion reached forward, gripping the boy's head and turning his neck at a sharp angle. The sound of bones cracking made Tessa shiver, turning away form the horrible sight.
