“‘Yun lang un? Akala ko naman kung ano na meron sa family mo at sa mga Teng.”
Binalik na lang ni Sam ang tingin sa iniinom niyang kape at napapangiti ng ewan nang ikwento ko sa kanya ang nangyari sa party. The Teng Family already meets my family well, akala ko kung anong meron sa kanila kasi parang awkward naman masyado. Hindi mapakali si Papa at parang naiirata for the whole time, thanks to Tita Dulce for lighten up the moment for us.
Nalaman ko din na magbestfriend si Mama at Tita Susan while Papa and Tito Alvin was a close buddies also when they were teenagers. Kaya lang naghiwalay sila nang magcollege ang bawat isa hanggang sa makapag-asawa. I asked my dad if that was their first encounter after many years and he said “yes” but I doubt it. Nagbago kasi si Papa after nun medyo weird, I just really don’t know.
“MJ? Hi. Sorry I’m late.”
“Okay lang sanay na ako noon pa man e.” I rolled my eyes upward and motion him to take the seat next to Sam, he just gave me a smile.
Lance is smiling from ear to ear while his eyes fixed at Samantha, she’s now giving him a question look. Kinukulit lang talaga ako nitong ni Lance kaya pumayag akong lumabas with him ayoko nga lang na dalawa lang kami kaya sinama ko si Sam.
“Hi Beautiful. I’m Tristan. Can I know your name?”
Napailing na lang ako sa mga banat ni Lance at hindi maiwasang mapangiti. Same the old Tristan Lance I’ve meet many years ago. I gaze at Samantha and she hesitantly gave her hand to Lance then they shook hands.
“Tristan Lance! Don’t scare my friend.” I joked.
“He’s not doing anything, Madds.” Sam told me harmoniously. She was now smiling at Lance, they’re both weird that’s why I want them to be friends or more than that.
“It’s Samantha but you can call me Sam. I have no idea that Maddison had a very handsome friend.” She told him in a seductive tone and smiled sweetly.
“I’m not just her friend but also her first and last love.” Lance arrogantly said. Napalingon naman sa akin si Sam at nilakihan ng mata.
“What? Don’t tell me you believe him.”
“So, he’s not your ex-lover?” ex-lover, yuck! Naiisip ko pa lang na naging kami ni Lance nasusuka na ako e. Sinagot ko lang naman siya noon kasi nacurious lang ako kung ano ung feeling na merong boyfriend, Lance knows about it.
“We can say it in that way. Yes. He’s my ex but were not mutually feels anything to each other, diba Lance?” Natatango naman sumagot si Sam and let a satisfying sigh.
“For you wala but it means a lot for me, MJ. You were my first love and yet my best friend that time. It really hurts hearing what you’ve said.” I rolled my eyes though he was acting that he’s hurt. Napatawa naman si Sam at tumingin na lang sa side ko.
“May tumatawag ata sayo, Madds.” Turo niya sa cellphone na nakapatong sa table. Habang binubuksan ko naman ito ay biglang tumigil na ang pagvibrate. 11 missed calls?
