"Izaya! What the fuck?!" I yell, biting my lip. I try to move away, but Izaya has a firm hold.
We both watch as my blood drips down from the slits, and run down my arms. The longer it stays in contact with my skin, the more it hurts. Suddenly, my blood glistens blue, as if someone had mixed my blood with paint. I stare and scream in agony. A few tears trickle down my cheek.
"Just as I thought."
I look at him, wiping the tears and blood with my shirt.
"That, my dear, was no coincidence. You're a Guardian, I presume." He looks back, dabbing the cuts with water. "You're very much different."
"So...What does that mean?"
"Magic. You are the Guardian of this area of Japan - You are the Guardian of Ikebukuro. That's why fate led you here, here to Ikebukuro."
I stared, near gawking.
"It was quite some pain though, wasn't it? Hurt me just seeing such a pretty face shed tears."
"Yeah...It hurt like hell."
"That will be due to your magic. Blue blood burns Guardians, but heals humans. It's one of the most dangerous weapons a Guardian has. Now, since I'm certain, you have no choice but to stay with me. In a few hours, me and Celty will give you a job. Complete it, and that's yen coming out of the bank, Sara."
I nod. Some part of me was refusing to believe the chances of me being this "Guardian" thing, but the other half of me was dying to meet Celty - Not literally, but metaphorically speaking.
Izaya surprisingly hugs me, laying my head on his shoulder. I smile and let him wrap his arms around my waist.
"Don't worry, Sara. Me and Celty will still be there. You're not alone. Believe me."
To be honest, he gives good hugs, and his smile is the most precious thing I've ever seen. Wait. What the fuck am I thinking?! I'm not....No. No fucking way.
I laugh lightly. "I know you really just want another excuse to see Shizu-Chan."
"Oi, I'm certainly not gay. Do I have to prove how straight I am?"
"One, suuuure. Two, please don't. I want to continue believing you're gay." I drone, smirking.
"Oh, I wish I could hate your lovable self, Sara. Only if I could."
One month later.
Izaya drags me to a huge building, then kicks the door open.
"Miss me, dickheads?" He grins, pulling me into the building.
"Fuck no." Some guy says.
"Who's this? Your little girlfriend?" Another guy laughs, pointing at us two.
"Oh, I wish. She's the Ike-Guardian." His grin grows, sitting me down on a stool. "We're needing Celty."
Everyone stares at me with their eyes wide open.
"You're fucking joking, right? She's THE Guardian?" The first guy asks, slamming his bottle of whiskey on a wooden table. Needless to say, it was too loud for my sensitive ears. "Couldn't our Guardian be a little taller?"
"Can you burn Charlie's hair?"
"No, you idiots." A woman around twenty-three comes out from behind the door leading to the men's bathroom. I don't even want to know why she was in there or what she was doing. "Ikebukuro is an air city, not fire. If this girl is really who Orihara claims to be, she would possess one of them, but she's a human. She will never possess any of the elements."
