"Marnie! Wait up!" Ivy called after her in the hallway, trying to catch up to her best friend. It was just after first period- on a Monday, which left Marnie tired and annoyed, wanting to go home and re-read the love note like the total stalker she is.But hey, she was in love, okay? Don't beat her up about it.
"I haven't seen you in weeks Marns, it's like you left the map." Ivy stated, twirling her platinum blond hair. Marnie sighed, already bored with the conversation.
"It was a school break, I stayed home and watched re-runs of The Vampire Diaries. I also made mini-muffins." Marnie concluded, helplessly trying to open her locker, for the past five minutes. Ivy rolled her eyes, frustrated, and opened Marnie's lock for her.
Thanks, Marnie muttered softly, eyebrows scrunching together, seeing a parcel of papers fall out of her cubby. Her eyes lit up instantly, seeing the golden dove, stamped on the page. She squealed, gaining attention from others in the hallway.
"Woah, Marnie, what is that?!" Ivy gaped at her glowing figure. Marnie twisted her lips, contemplating if she should tell her.
I can't just say that someone is drawing pictures of me and sending me letters of how insanely infatuated they are with me, right? Marnie thought to herself.
Luckily, the bell took Marnie out of her own trance, as she mouthed 'later' to Ivy.
Marnie was itching to open her new letters- her cheeks a crimson red, contrast to her pasty skin. She had been waiting; so long, so patiently- Well not really, but all she wanted to do was rip the package open in the hallway, and squeeze her eyes shut and scream.
But that would be weird, Marnie decided, heading off to her second period class.
Tonight.
Marnie smiled.
